Well I might have totally misunderstood the meaning of yesterdays post but at least you got another post out of it explaining how we got it wrong.

I didn't delve too far into the whys and wherefores but did enjoy recalling those late 1950s programmes when yes,one actually did watch with with mother!

They say you can make a roomful of men in their 50s all dewy eyed by playing those few notes on the glockenspiel that WWM started with.

I can still see Andy and Teddy waving goodbye, goodbye, goodbye.

I'm wondering if you wore a coat this morning or not.

I assumed that the Andy Pandy episode linked to was first broadcast in 1952, but the series as a whole started in 1950. So you're both right.

You're right DG - today's post is a good example of 'lack of effort'/ must try harder - the PR missives (see DG's ad nauseum) being typical of the work of Phil Space / Polly Filler

And how much of our time do you want?

I understood it.

I thought Wednesday's post might be a nursery version of Mornington Crescent, but I didn't like to take a turn because I saw Trumpton had already been played......

Hi Tim,

I'm sorry that the quality of today's posts has failed to meet threshold expectations. Please contact the usual address for a full refund.

Just like the reminiscing, remembering with pleasure, casting one's mind back to, looking back on, being nostalgic about, recalling, recollecting, reflecting on and calling to mind. I guess. Sorry pardon.

Well I've got to admit I'm actually old enough to remember a good few of those programmes.
Thanks to your link, that was the first time in years that I've seen an original clip from 'Picture Book'
Hmmm... perhaps it's not the funniest thing ever, but the maybe the sketch by Jane Horrocks - "Never Mind The Horrocks Pt 2" on Youtube - wasn't so far off, after all

Yesterday's post was a nice trip down memory lane. Something I like to do more and more as I approach my 50s!!

Well, I remember watching the old school children's programmes, but I'm certainly not old enough to remember whether they appeared on Watch With Mother or not.

Still, I am kicking myself now for not spotting the obvious clues!
