When you leave your thoughts, see if you can do it in small words like I did.
Yes twice

Wow! A great piece, which says so much. And it sure makes me want to go and see the place.
One more thing to show us that D G is a man of great skill. Long live this blog! |

Trying to write a post with only little words (up to six long) is a cute idea but sure gives it a very weird feel. Maybe Basic Eng. is a better idea even if it's less simple to follow a word list than a length limit. Either way it feels like it's dumbed down a lot like modern museum labels dg has whined about before.
(Sorry for the unintended connotations of "whined"; I couldn't find a short enough synonym for "complained") |
As "the year one one two three" this makes it seem a bit, well, Fibonacci, but you would not have said so.
Great!
But why? |
Next day you need not to use the fifth letter.
(Apologies If the requirement was to only be monosyllabic as well as short) |
May be Bert did not hold the purse strings."AS he did?"
My Dad had a job there. He said you could call the place the full long name or Barts. You must not to call it St Barts as this was very wrong.
In your pic of the stairs, might the sun harm the wall paint and bleach it? I hope not.

Feels like curated text worthy of an NHS press release.
Accessible, or patronising? And now, of course, I'm wondering when I'm going to encounter the language model trained exclusively on d.g. |
Thanks, very good. I will link in my recent post. I had overlooked the short words thing, which means you can't use words like gonorrhoea. I did post in 2015 on the unrestored staircase, when I had an appointment at Bart's, albeit not for gonorrhoea.
I hope you popped into the bigger church to see Damian Hurst's gold St. Sebastian sculpture holding his flayed skin. d g writes: been thanks |

Looks lovely. One for a free Monday (or the next day of the week).

Born there. End of war. 80 now, soon 81. Proper Cockney.

Very nice, painty bits and/or glass might have anti UV stuff on it
Exclnt.!
Oh, I see. It is not how long Will's last name is which stopped you when you went to write it, it is how many a/e/i/o/u sounds it has.
Aaaaaaaaaaaargh! I mean, the count of a/e/i/o/u sounds.

I visited with a friend soon after the North Wing reopened. As you say "wow!". My wife was a midwife at Barts in the late '70s and remembers having a staff Christmas lunch in the Great Hall.
When I say the word for what you can do with the sound guide (pay to take it with you for a bit) out loud, it has two of the things all the rest of the words in the post have just one of.
I see that the piano survived, unlike the one at the Hornsey Town Hall, which suffered irreparable damage because of a leaky ceiling there.
What a lot of holes in the walls filled with glass!
Affected and rather tiresome to read piece, redeemed by an interestuing subject. Much looking forward to attending a candle-lit concert there soon; am hoping the fire-safety is adequate!

I saw it while it was being restored. Glad to see the outcome.

Over Pond next week. Plan to visit. Thx.
Wow! Will visit - ta.
Good of you to take on a work experience kid for the week.
(if you didn't get it, only words of one syllable)
"Stay: half an hour"? I must have stayed for an hour and a half at least. There's a lot to take in, including the small but densely packed museum which has a different door in the same building.
