Save your specific Battersea observations until tomorrow, cheers.

(or, in some cases, six years ago)
But Khan/Johnson could have cancelled NLE/HS2, but didn't. So they do bear some responsibility.
Leaving Twitter does solve many of these issues.
I think perhaps there is a distinction to be made between some of the quoted tweets. It takes only a little knowledge to realise that decisions about the number of affordable homes being built were unlikely to have been made by the current mayor (although not everyone will be aware of the scale of the development or how long planning takes). However, I expect that the vast majority of people would be surprised to learn that decisions about tube station zones would have been made so long ago, giving those tweeters some excuse.

Thanks for another great Diamond Geezer twist on a story.
I'd say you step in to tell someone something you think they don't know if doing so might prevent them from making a costly mistake; putting themselves in a vulnerable position; or unnecessarily upsetting other people. Doing so just to show off your own knowledge is never wise or welcome (unless you're a participant in yet another ghastly themed TV "quiz").
If Sky Sports were to sponsor this blog, today would be branded as "Super Superior Sunday"
I won't say it's all-nothing between Boris and Sadiq, but neither it's 50-50. Three- or four-to-one seems closer to the truth: Boris made the most decision, which Sadiq could do little, but I guess he could decide the final fare at least.
Wait, but Malcolm - how could Khan have cancelled HS2?!
Khan's hands would probably have been tied on the zoning, if it was a condition of the private-sector funding
I have been experimenting with the TFL journey planner. It certainly knows… <snip>
it's quite possible those screaming at the Mayor do know that he was not responsible for the decisions. They are relying on their target audience not knowing.
I should think the tweets condemning Sadiq Khan are largely part of the continuous war waged on him by bigots and the right, who use any excuse, real or imagined, to have a go. Of course, Johnson’s edifice complex brought us useless things like the Dangleway, the squandered millions spent on the vanity project of the garden bridge (which Kham did cancel) and his completely unjustifiable over-ruling of two local authorities to allow speculative redevelopment at the Mount Pleasant sorting office. There are probably many other dodgy Mayoral decisions that haven’t been exposed yet or are buried in boring minutes and reports, but somehow he’s managed as both Mayor and PM to pull the wool over so many people’s eyes for so long.
I have to somewhat agree with Labourer. Sometimes I get frustrated by Mayor Khan, but then I see the torrent of abuse - some of which is blatantly racist - that appears on his Twitter stream and I think he's not really such a bad guy. No-one should have to tolerate that. Especially when at least half of it is ranting about things that fall completely outside of the realm of the London Mayor.

The way that people have taken to airing their politics on social media when they don't have the slightest clue about it is disheartening. I've given up on trying to educate the local Facebook group on what falls within the council's remit and their MP's remit. They don't care, they just want to blast someone they can hate on because they're a member of the wrong party. I've literally seen people change their mind on a subject because it turns out to be the Conservative MP's problem rather than the LibDem council's problem. "Oh, well that's okay then."
On Underground maps, destination displays, announcements etc plain Battersea Power Station is unambiguous and all that is required. Above ground however it's a different matter. "Meet you at Battersea Power Station" could be anywhere in the complex. Likewise bus blinds, if BPS ever becomes a destination. So if the underground station is the intended location, "Battersea Power Station Station" needs to be expressed in full. The spoken version is perhaps more likely to be "meet you at Battersea Power Station underground station". Also disambiguation is crucial for the emergency services.
I will never get over the ridiculous name of that station
I hope there’ll be an ATM machine at Battersea Power Station station.
I'll have to remember my PIN number to use it!
Being in Zone 1 may not necessarily work to Nine Elms and Battersea Power Station's benefit overall.

'Zone 1 only' pay-as-you-go fares are slightly cheaper than fares for Zones 1 & 2 fares. (£2.40, rather than £3 during the morning peak/£2.50 at all other times) But for weekly caps and Travelcard prices, 'Zone 1 only' costs the same as Zones 1 & 2. So the only people who benefit are those who travel less frequently (this would include a 5-days-a-week commuter, if they make one journey each way per day and otherwise make little other use of the transport system - they will save £3.50 a week).

On the other hand, journeys from Battersea Power Station or Nine Elms to Kennington or Elephant & Castle are charged at Zone 1 rates, which are considerably higher than those for 'Zone 2 only'.
↑↑↑ This is an excellent example of a "Yes, I know" comment, drilling down into something I blogged about four months ago...

...but how would the commenter know that?
This is getting to be an issue in other ways.

When I get my Thameslink train home the first stop is "London Blackfriars", so the station where I board should be London London Bridge.
I'm still looking for Rowland Hill hill.
Hi
Your part about judging whether people *should* know about something, and/or whether you're willing to tell them about something that they in fact already know, reminds me of the XKCD comic about "Today's 10,000".

The basic idea is that if 100% of people have heard about something by the age of 30, that equates to roughly 10,000 people hearing about it for the first time each day. We shouldn't make fun of those people for not knowing about it, and in fact it's more fun to introduce them to that new thing.
If only there were a broadcasting channel devoted to Battersea Power Station Station
It's now next Saturday, and today I've received an email saying...

"The external display of the last station on the new extension is BATTERSEA POWER STATION. Logically, in order to follow the usual convention, it should be BATTERSEA POWER STATION STATION."

and a comment saying...

"Shouldn't Battersea Power Station actually be called Battersea Power Station Station?"

It may never stop.
