Because the capacity restrictions are still in place (for those who live outside London, in the old days (20th March) it was normal for people to catch a bus to the tube, instead of driving and parking), TfL introduced their priority buses for school children this week, so even less incentive to go get back into the old commuter routine, plus with the kids back at school it'll be quieter at home now.
• campaign to persuade parents that school is 'safe'
• increased fines for organisers of mass gatherings

Hmm, how are they going to square that circle then!!

• risk to children is 'vanishingly small'

That's as maybe, but not to the grandparents they could infect!

• up to 85,000 deaths in worst case winter scenario

Bloody hell! They thought 20,000 deaths in the first wave would be a bad result!
"Experts" have been the big eye-opener for me, from Prof Neil Ferguson (wife & mistress) in March constantly stating 266000 will die in UK if we follow what was happening in Italy, or the B/soc and estate agents who now predict house prices will dive 6% or increase 3% this year. Whichever, the facts are/will be significantly different.
"Non-experts" have been the big eye-opener for me, including people who misquote what professors said five months ago.
I've really enjoyed this series on Lincolnshire, thankyou for including it. I'd love to read your reflections on Woodhall Spa and Gainsborough if you ever get the chance to visit them in future.
