Very unusually, I was in Muswell Hill on Monday, which must be why I’ve received this special edition. I expect better targeting in future…
A brilliant and varied posting today, thanks, brightened the dark morning and gave me a crystallographic transfusion.
In my view the loss of the 271 improves links, Moorgate and Highgate Village were always a poor termini for onward connections, it seemed to run between these points mearly to justify use of the stands - although this is Highgate, so they'll be well connected objections.

Shows how much passenger usage has dropped, when the 21 was extended to Newington Green in 2006 the buses into London were absolutly rammed in the morning peak, the downside was that there was no real traffic objective at Newington Green for any other traffic.

1 and 168 - redevelopment/demolition of the estate hasn't helped traffic volumes in the Elephant & Castle area.
Having lived in N10 for ten years and taught Chemistry there for longer I’m a bit embarrassed not to have known of the Barlow connection until today, especially as I still often walk past the shop where the plaque is. Also I went to the Everyman Cinema yesterday without noticing the Christmas tree and am resolving to do better in future.
I'm slightly disappointed that "Sutton (Central)" doesn't redirect to an empty page. :D
The 271 was a replacement for trolleybus route 611, and today still runs exactly the same route. The 611 was, in turn, the replacement for tram route 11.

Over a century of history is about to be wiped out!
Classic Stronsay bias in the localisation options, when will you respect the will of the people of Hoy!
Muswell Hill is a prime spot of North London. It only missed out being on the tube because of a little unpleasantness starting in 1939, followed by the otherwise good thing of the Green Belt clobbering the Northern Heights extension.
I walked and cycled the Parkland Walk long before there was a Parkland Walk. Great memories revived.
I wonder how many readers, like me, looked up "enantiomorphous" in the dictionary, only to be disappointedly unenlightened.
Rochdale edition was awesome! Looking forward to more.
Enantiomorphs, Joho, are pairs of asymmetric molecules which are mirror images of each other. Enzymes generally act on only one enantiomorph, so D-glucose, for example, gives you much of your energy, but L-glucose, though it tastes much the same, cannot be used by your body.
Thanks!
I think the geolocation isn't working properly, I'm not based in Yorkshire and the Humber.

That being said, the piece about the Humber Bridge was really interesting - I had no idea the cables were made of organic reusable materials!
Yes, quite interesting, but where is your travelogue for the Pacific Rim? It won’t download no matter what I try.
Should I try again tomorrow? 😉
I enjoyed solo walking the Parkland Walk in both directions during lock-down II of 2020. In my youth I watched films weekly at the splendid Art Deco Muswell Hill Odeon (as it then was) and set my sights on living atop the hill of N10 one day. Whilst I did spend short periods living in nearby East Finchley and (relative nearby) Crouch End, I never made it to N10. But I visit often, always with a twinge of regret for opportunity missed.
As someone who once worked in a crystallography lab and now writes about London for a living, this was right up my street (if not literally up my street).
Very much appreciated the return of Rochdale-focused content; I think we just missed each other making the trip to see Gaia in person - I didn't notice anyone I'd have thought was you when I was there, but by the description you must have been there the same afternoon as us!
