Was DG tipped off about this, discovered it on happenchance or expected it having already known about the software update?

This is such a very niche Crossrail quirk. I love it.

Woolwich may not be open, but Abbey Wood is. However, the only routes to Abbey Wood at present all go via Woolwich Arsenal, and are on the TOC scale, not the cheaper TfL scale that a ticket to Abbey Wood "via Liz Line" would be sold at.
The question is... does an Oyster fare between Whitechapel and Abbey Wood (without passing through barriers) assume you took a Crossrail train and cost £1.50 now, or does it assume you changed at Farringdon/New Cross/Bank+Greenwich?
Just checked... it does!! Wonder how long that's going to sit there...

Fun fact: Oxford Circus to Plumstead costs £1.70 more than Oxford Circus to Abbey Wood now. MUST. TRY.

Fun fact 2: Heathrow (TfL Rail) to Abbey Wood is now doable for £6, while heading to Plumstead is £12.50; Heathrow (LU) to Abbey Wood is doable for £1.50, while to Plumstead it's £5.50.

Imaginary train lines, guys... imaginary train lines make real trains cheaper.
And to think I had designs on moving to the place at the turn of the year.

Oh well. More time to earn the cash I need. And to find someone to share the rent with. In the meantime I can at least imagine I'm going on the trips there I'm not making.
