First photo - whats the black thing in mid air on the left, it appears to be between you and telephone poll, it looks like a black plastic bag - but has too much definition just to be something caught in a gust of wind.

I used to live near here, and drove this stretch of the N Circular many times. Thanks for revealing this interesting backdrop.

Really interesting, never knew about Hawthorn Dene or that social housing estate, its architecture is definitely of that era...
