I had never been to Eastcote until 2018, when friends with a little one on the way up sticks from Hampstead and moved out to Metroland for the extra space and land. I have now been numerous times, and agree with you on the lovely little gardens on the platforms.
It is lovely, especially with Eastcote House & Gardens park, the River Pinn and quaint village sign further up the road!
Those concrete lamp columns are superb, and of national importance, conservationally-speaking. If they need some restoration work, I know a man who can.
I remember the station pleasantly from a trip to Eastcote House Gardens two years ago. I am more used to the similar destination indicators at Rayners Lane where there was nothing at all until they wete put in.
Lovely. One of a few dozen tube stations to be listed, Grade II in this case, as a "complete and unique example of Holden's later evolution of the Sudbury Town style of station, lighter and more Scandinavian in feel than the earlier versions."

The listing entry mentions the "Original bronzed glazing and curved door to 'The Bakery', kiosk west of entrance" and the "impaled open roundels with original signage 'UndergrounD'."

There is a handful at Grade II*. I think St James's Park is the only tube station listed at Grade I.
I like Eastcote too but haven't been there in a while. Thanks for allowing me a virtual visit.
When I worked in the civil service, all our superannuated files went to Eastcote, so I tended to see it as a completely abstract place. You’ve now given me a reason to visit it, so thanks!
Eastcote is lovely.. you must go to Eastcote House Gardens, about a pleasant 10mg walk. On Eastcote high street, Do try Izees chocolate shop for the best liquid hot chocolate. And their macaroons. Yaprak has amazing food and drink too.

Also, the walk from Eastcote house gardens along the river Pinn to pinner is wonderful, but do it in late spring or early summer as a couple areas are prone to mud. The gardens at Eastcote house are beautiful in spring and summer and helped me connect to nature during covid. There’s also a pleasant walk along the river pinn in the other direction to Ruislip and Duck Pond market (1st and 3rd Sundays) - Ruislip “castle” aka Manor House.
It would be good to see some conservation control on these grade 2 listed stations. The hideous lettering on the commercial premises that form part of the station architecture detract from this and many other classic Holden stations, that were once graced with the elegant and restrained letterforms of WH Smith, Waltons, and Finlays. And a shame the central poster space on the front pillar is a tatty empty black board.
I have never heard I Eastcote. Never heard anyone mention it and never noticed it on the map! Thanks dg.
My local station. The gardens have won several awards over the last 40 years. Been commuting from there since ‘78. The station features in the film “Ring of Spies”, based on the Portland spy ring scandal in 60’s. Platform popular with foxes and owls in early morning.
Glad to see the train indicators are doing something useful. They have been there at least 15 years and for a long time showed "check front of train".
