Maybe the BW Party can do better?

Well I just thank god Gordon abolished Boom and Bust. Think where we would be if he hadnt!

The BW Party couldn't do any worse, that's for sure...

Whilst you're all crying into your tea there are people plotting right now...to them, the inevitable scenario 2 is not the 'unexpected'.

Of course, if we had joined the euro...

Of course, if Gordon hadn't racked up such an enormous national debt...

Of course, if we hadn't racked up such enormous personal debts...

Of course, if the Government hadn't spent £31bn on war in Afghanistan and Iraq...

Of course, if the banks had been better regulated...

Of course, of course.

Six months ago Oil was forecast to be $200 a barrel by years end and inflation and interest would be sky high. Whither now that prophecy?

When it's all settled the national debt will be paid off. After all, if you borrow it you have to pay it off at some point. That's just where we are now - in a pay period.

I'm waiting for housing to be at a realistic price again.

It just goes to show that all the so called experts have no real idea of what's going to happen next

It amazes me that politicians, apparently, did not see this coming. Any good economist will tell you that a bust has to follow a boom, as this is part of the economic cycle.

I think it's time we elected a new government. However, could David Cameron do any better?

Not sure if "the unexpected" means something ominous or optimistic, DG. I'll assume the latter from here in the US where something really unexpected DID happen on November 4. I am certain the UK can do better than David Cameron and the Tories.

@AndrewH, they don't not expect it, they just hope it doesn't happen on their watch. Politics is a lot like musical chairs...

Hey BW, Can't you just wave your wand and fix it anyway, do we really have to give you any more power than you undoubtably already have??

The BW Party will also make improving spelling a top priority

Albert - you are either optimistic or a fool. I suggest you read aan Greenspan's Age of Turbulence. It will show you how we got to this mess and why the debt won't ever be fully paid off.

God..That was scary

Just catching up on some reading and I saw a comment on the BW party. My immediate though was "Blair Witch" - bloody hell - not Cherie for PM....

Looks like both scenarios have come true...

Oh dear, the 2011 scenario is true... (is anyone even reading this comment?!?)

I read it! (And agreed as well.)

I reckon most latecoming commenters on this archive page probably arrived the same way I did - clicking the "single life" post in the sidebar, which, thanks to Auto-Pagination, is broken.
