• got fewer comments
• had 25% fewer readers
(but I trust you enjoyed Saturday's more)

I wouldn't judge the appreciation of an article on the number of comments. If that's one of your criteria, then I'd just be posting comments such as "Excellent" or "Another fine article" and not actually adding anything constructive.
I did read Saturday's post. I did appreciate it. But I didn't feel I had anything of value to add, so kept quiet.
