Kate: No, or at least, not in theory. Just about every phone has the capability now.
The magic combination of accounts, user names, servers and passwords, however, is illusive - but seemingly independent of technical ability on the part of either the user or the phone. I think the networks that sell the phones break things when they tinker to "brand" them.
