Super interesting, thanks dg.
I used to work for The Lancet medical journal and they once published a very interesting article on the fate of the Cato Street Conspirators - the last people to be hung, drawn and quartered in this country.

The sentence was carried out outside Newgate jail, and the severing of the heads was done with such precision that some thought the Lancet editor Thomas Wakley had done this. Thus following the execution, a mob attacked him in his house at 5 Argyll Street on August 26, 1820, where he was assaulted and left for dead, and his house burnt to the ground.

It is highly doubtful that Wakley was the executioner: the Lancet article points the finger at "Tom Parker, the head dissecting-room porter at the Webb Street Medical School, who had a side-line in body-snatching, was probably the one in the black mask."
"the Tory government intent on keeping the emerging working class in their place"
Nothing changes!
So more properly called the Cato Street Entrapment, then.

Nothing new there either.
Apart from the anachronism, the horse-drawn item is unlikely to be running on rails. It would seem that the American tendency to deem any tourist vehicle a "tram" or "trolley" is gradually invading these shores.
Gresham College had a good talk about it last week.
