Well done,DG! I did enjoy that day out with you,but I'm afraid that my feet and legs were aching towards the end. 😉
An informative and fascinating read. 👍🏻
I hope you managed some frites on the go, Belgian chips are my personal favourite of the unhealthy Belgian trinity of chips, chocolate and beer!
Very interesting, although I’m annoyed that the Le Corbusier exhibition has finished, since I would have liked to see it.

I’d slightly question the “value” you got for your pass, since €10 of this was on Diva, which you clearly didn’t enjoy. Although it’s easy to say this in retrospect, given what it is and who you are, that’s fairly predictable, and you might have got more “value” spending more time in the other places, or even having lunch...
With DIVA - a saving of €32
Without DIVA - a saving of €22
Both damned good "value".
Impressive yomping. Would second Tom’s suggestion of picking up some Friet Speciaal next time tho.
What's so special about Belgian frites?
Something in the oil?
Sigh. By informing me of additions like the Port House you're reminding me of how long it has been since I've been there.

Decades! ;-)
Sigh too, though not even decades for me - been to MAS but before Port House landed.

Great reporting, thanks.
Wow, that's some serious sightseeing! *bows*
DG-Re your comment abut America's take on immigrants.. Most folks I know have NOT changed their views (which are enshrined at the base of the Statue of Liberty). Unfortunately these (and many other unsavory thoughts ) are those of a minority elected person who longs to be dictator of the world.
And on the third day of writing about Belgium... the lowest number of daily visitors since October 2017.
Sounds like Diamond to Antwerp is similar to Tulips to the Netherlands.

And about the "immigrant" thing, the "no more immigrant" sentiment is actually pretty common in cities or countries first established by immigrants. If the country itself is attractive to only the top and/or the bottom then the sentiment will be even stronger. Not to mention if immigration is used as a tool of the home country to assert unreasonable control on the destination.
Maybe the lowest number of visitors but having spent four days in Antwerp this time last year I found this a particularly fascinating read. Encapsulates very succinctly the city's main attractions, food and drink excepted. The annual Festival of Flanders is an additional draw for those who like baroque music.
Great trip, but can't credit that some of the duller museums were more interesting than (the free) Zurencorg Quarter .
