As expected, I'd say

I noticed Sadiq Khan posted a video about the opening of Crossrail on the Mayor of London Instagram this morning, I'm sure he's happy he can finally start bragging about it
Don’t think Westminster was expected!
Interesting update - thanks. Looking forward to the Tower Hamlets mayoral result after your recent preview.
I think there seems to have been a bit of disquiet about the decisions made by Westminster Council, not least Marble Arch Mound!

On a more personal level, I am also not entirely happy with the demolition of M&S Marble Arch.
I like the diagram
Looking at the three councils retained so far by the Conservatives in London, (Bexleyheath, Hillingdon, Kensington & Chelsea), the number of Labour seats has hardly changed, the Conservatives even gained some in Enfield.

Barnet, Westminster and Wandsworth were decisive flips, of these Wandsworth has been trending towards Labour for some years.

The Conservatives were almost wiped out in Richmond, but gained a couple of seats in Sutton.

Considering how awful the headlines have been plus the economic situation, it's not looking like the decisive rejection I'd have expected, with pundits predicting a hung parliament if this were a general election.
There was no-one with a blue rosette outside my polling station in Richmond.
Tower Hamlets Mayoral election

Lutfur Rahman 39533 (47%) + 1271 = 40804
John Biggs 27894 (33%) + 5593 = 33487
Rabina Khan (Lib Dem) 6430
Elliott Weaver (Con) 4269
Andrew Wood (Ind) 3985
Hugo Pierre (Soc) 1462
Pamela Holmes (Ind) 552
I cannot explain the gains by Con in Harrow. Local politics or a sign that the demographics there are trending Conservative?
Croydon has turned blue.
That's the mayoral election (Croydon's first) - very close: it was won on second-preference vbotes, by a margin of less than 1%.

They haven't started counting the councollors' votes yet.
I wonder if any councillors elected to represent parties in Tower Hamlets will end up defecting to Aspire.
Shocked to see Harrow turn blue. Labour voter apathy perhaps. Maybe we'll get a bit more in the way of government funding now, as a thank you!
Absolutely gobsmacked to see Barnet turn red though!
Sutton's blue gains explained by the current LD administration being in power for 30 years and widely seen as out of touch. As voters slowly abandon the LDs, Labour has actually picked up more of the vote than the Cons, and indeed have 3 councillors for the first time in decades. But being on the Surrey border, the Cons always had more votes in place in the first place.
I would expect that quite a few people (and maybe some official bodies) will be closely scrutinizing Tower Hamlets mayor and council to ensure legality, if not morality or equity.
It’s possible that Labour took the Bengali community votes for granted on TH and are now paying for that complacency.
Tower Hamlets Council update

Lutfur Rahman's Aspire party has also won the majority of councillors...

Aspire 24
Labour 19
Conservative 1
Green 1

(at the last election Lab 42, Con 2, Ind 1)

Mayoralty and council.
Belt and braces.
As my wife said we now have our very own populist mayor. His number one policy was to remove the road closures and open up the streets for car drivers again. As an avowed hater of cars (for all the obvious reasons pollution, danger, selfishness, noise), it's really disappointing he's won. The fact that his I think fourth priority policy was addressing climate change undermined his credibility pretty much. His other policies - arrest a drug dealer a day, while welcome in some ways, sounds very populist as well. What about underlying problems, what about the user victims? But John Biggs' policies were very dull, amounting pretty much to 'I'm a steady pair of hands'. I guess we'll see what Rahman actually achieves.
Harrow lost 8 Labour councillors through a boundary change. Talk about gerrymandering!
Barnet rejects PM's barnet, as they might say in the east end.
Here's Dave Hill's comprehensive overview of the final council results.
