WELL THAT’S NOT HOW I WOULD HAVE DONE IT 😂
Oooh, judging by the first one, methinks the W7's gonna make it...
The P14 would have probably made the cut, but sadly it died several years ago, and now there is nothing through the Rotherhithe tunnel, a tunnel which unbelievably once accommodated double deck buses.
Intriguing - that first link gives the length of each route, and shows twelve of them to be 4km or less. (4.5km allowing for rounding). One of them is the 399, which you say is 11th shortest on your criteria. I wonder which is the other one not to have made the cut?
Bus 631 Golders Green Station to Henrietta Barnett School must be a contender for the shortest, or don't school buses count?

Ooh fun! I shall look forward to this.

Hope you also do the 10 longest - or at least list them for us to try.
@Cornish Cockney - Many know X26 is the longest (I took a whole trip myself), but I am also curious on the other 9. Does R5 / R10 make it onto the list?
@Patrickov

The link DG kindly provided has the R5/R10 as being a fairly average 8 miles long (each).

There are eight routes listed as at least 14 miles long (111, 246, 314, 331, 358, 465, 492, X26), and another seven as being 13 miles (216, 229, 232, 407, 455, 463, 607). More precise data would be needed to determine the actual order.
What's the longest? Croydon to Heathrow airport?
All ten journeys undertaken between 4th-7th January 2019. And they're a proper mixed bag.
@Adrian - the x26 is listed as 24 miles - no other route is more than fifteen.
Given the first episode i can't imagine the next four parts won't be as interesting. And how about shortest terminus-to-terminus train journeys as another possible series?
Curiously, the London buses webpage you link to shows the first three routes you covered as increasing in length - 129 - 4km (2 miles) - allowing for rounding, that must be between 3.5 and 4.0km)
346 - 4km (3 miles - between 4.0 and 4.5km)
209 - 5km (3 miles) - between 4.5 and 5.5km

It all adds to the mystery of what's coming next - I certainly wasn't expecting the 209. Fond memories of commuting to university on that route when it was still part of the No 9 and went all the way to the City.
According to the link that DG provided on this page it states that the H2 route is only 2 miles or 3.2km long, yet it didn't make the top 10 or even the top 20.

Is it disqualified because it's a circular route and not between 2 different termini ?

Can you throw any light on this DG ?
The H2 is a one-way route (proof here) running from Golders Green station to Golders Green station. It does not have a 'Hestitation point' where the blind is switched. It's officially listed as a 4.7 mile journey, and so doesn't appear in the Shortest 20.
