Is "avenge of 45 minutes" in the original?

One chunk of 60 minutes is much easier, especially now it is coordinated across the whole of the EU.
What an enlightened man Mr Willett was. Of course, chunks of 20 minutes would be virtually impossible to coordinate these days, but fortunately we do have BST now.

If only we were on Central European Time, we'd have even more usable daylight hours. See www.lighterlater.org (I have no connection with this organization).
^ "usable daylight hours"?
Usable for whom? Many people work shift-work...some even on perm nights, seems like quite a few people forget not everyone is on a "M-F,9-5 type lifestyle"
Here in Spain some of the newspapers are saying it would be better here if they used UK time here and not Central European Time, since the clocks went forward here on Sunday it now gets light about 7.45 and dark about 9.30pm. Portugal uses the same as UK.
For the UK I would prefer Central European Time and have lighter evenings.
With #Andrew on this one. Three successive increments, or would that be decrements at this time of year, might sound easier on the body but think of all the protracted hooha involved.

No, let us change our (non-web-connected) clocks but the once, then spend the rest of the week changing our body clocks!
Sadly Willett did not live to see his idea in action - he died in 1915, a year before the government adopted his scheme under the Emergency Powers Act
I think that the clocks should go back by 1 hour permanently, as I am in bed by "8 pm" and usually get up at "4 am".
