Oh yeah and @#@# the mini-budget (ironically named given the seismic impact it is having on the economy). It always astonishes me how wrong-headed politicians can be. Plus the person in charge of energy policy literally has the word smog in his name. Now we know why Kier has had nothing to say for so long. He knew that in the endless repeating cycle of parties losing power rather than others winning it, if he just kept his mouth shut for long enough they'd do his job for him. Diamond, geezer!

An 1980s budget in a 2022 world, ignore the debt from 2008, Covid and subsidising energy bills, ignore that other countries might not want to invest in the City of London/UK if that means that their assets can be seized. Is that a financial tsunami on the horizon?

I'm not a particular fan of Sunak but I think he gains more by saying nothing. He didn't need to point out how right he was - plenty of other commentators are doing that for him.
To one of dg's polls many months ago, I commented that I thought Truss would be a disastrous leader. But I'm stunned at just how mad she is. This is unhinged.
