As the Mystery Count is such a mystery, I am not going to ask what it is. However, I wonder if there are any actions that might help the count "reaching 1" (I heard that it was non-zero in one year), and in particular, whether DG himself could do *something* to boost that up.
Two Becks already this morning DG?
Don't know if I could function on 6.214 hrs of sleep per night... Re: The Mystery Count - good luck DG!
You slept 174 hours a day last year DG?
Ooh, it's speculation-about-the-mystery-count month. Lovely!

We have to remember that, although it has not happened recently in February, the associated event may be quite frequent in the summer months. (Or, of course, it may not).

Could we raise crowd-funding for a professorship somewhere, whose occupant will supervise extensive research into this matter?
@Kevin
He sleeps 174 hours each day, though I suspect he meant to write "Number of hours slept", omitting the "each day" bit.
The two bottles of Becks on Feb 1 is from the Feb 2009 chart. DG is a reformed character these days.
Why the decrease in walking? You should try to do better this year.

dg wrtes: My apologies. I only managed to walk 125 miles last January, as opposed to 144 the year before.
I wonder if the Mystery Count will be the number of Valentine cards you receive,DG?
Nothing else to add,I just wanted to be in this years comments count! 😊
Will you ever reveal what the Mystery Count is?
Still waiting to find out about the mystery count. Perhaps something to do with kittens? Or having a girlfriend move in?
By definition we can never find out what the mystery count is. (Just getting my comment in so I'm counted too)
RogerB: Agreed that we can never find out what it is. But we could find out what it was. DG could tell us, if he wishes. Then it will be the "count of ..., formerly known as the mystery count". Or not, if he simultaneously decides to stop counting it.
Is the mystery count "the count of the number of times the mystery count is succesfully guessed"?
@Ian: I found that guess in an older post, so no, I don't think so.
I'm beginning to think I'll have died of old age before I ever find out what the mystery count is!
It will be the "unfinished business" that keeps my tortured soul here forever!
My forecast for the "mystery count" is zero (again).
My guess for the mystery count is the number of days of work he misses through illness.

My reasoning for this is that one time he said the mystery count was 0.3 so he rounded it down to 0. To me this could be a case of he wasn't well but went to work anyway but felt worse later on so had to leave work early, hence the 0.3.

Of course I could be, and probably am, wrong.
I love the count! (P.s Making sure kittens are included in the comment count)
@Barry, that's been my guess for a few years now as well.
My whole family succumbed to the lurgies in January, but I think DG is made of sterner stuff than us mere mortals.
When the mystery count was 0.3 it could have been 0.25 rounded off. Something that we measure in quarters and he did one quarter. Say visiting all four home nations. Lots of things measure by base four.

Or speaking of kittens, had a pet at home for 30% of the year.
Whoops meant to say the home nations not visited, ie 0 means having gone to NI, Wales and Scotland.
@Cornish Cockney: It's not as hard as we think. I seldom, if at all, fall ill in February.
