A boring pedant writes: Parliament wasn't prorogued before the election, merely dissolved. Perhaps the government didn't want to draw attention to the fact that the session only passed three acts, one of which was to hold an early general election.
Sorry, I only added that to stop boring pedants telling me Rushanara wasn't actually an MP any more.

Updated, thanks.
Do you mean 'last MP' in the top line as in the world will end in the next 5 years, or that there will be no more elections under President Boris, or that the constituency is being abolished/merged?

dg writes: Yes.
The 2018 boundary review suggests the 73 London constituencies will be reduced to 68, consequent on the Coalition decision in 2011 to reduce the number of MPs to 600.

The proposals for London involve splitting Bethnal Green from Bow to create “Stepney and Bow” and “Shoreditch and Bethnal Green”.
I can sense how safe this seat is, as the introduction gives me a feeling that all other parties do not present any sincerity at all.
This made me check who my local candidates are. The Green candidate seems very confused - his statement repeatedly talks about the next door constituency. I'm sure he's well meaning (all Greens are well meaning aren't they) but it would help if he knew where he was.
Another boring pedant writes (with apologies): The Brexit Party candidate should be in turquiose, not purple.
Only one supports Arsenal, so that should be your vote sorted.
I don’t know how many support Arsenal, but I suspect it’s at least two.
Whereever you are in the UK, please ensure you're registered to vote and on the big day you go out and vote.
My Conservative candidate spent some of this morning campaigning on Roman Road, but most of the day campaigning in Chingford and Woodford Green, so I don't think he's trying to win.
Chingford & Woodford Green is an interesting one. Lots of young families have ended up there after being priced out of Hackney and Walthamstow so IDS's majority was squeezed in 2017, and now it's really just a case of how the non-Tory vote gets split between two remaining candidates.
File that Tory under "paper candidate". What depresses me is how many votes people do don't bother, get...
Could you get anybody with a more Brexit name than David Axe? Are they making these people up?

dg writes: Yes. No.
"I've also made a special Twitter list of the Bethnal Green and Bow candidates here, if you're local and would like to subscribe."

I've done the same thing for every constituency in the country.

Rushanara Ali sounds like a courageous MP who will stand up for what is morally right, a valuable person to have working for your area in the corridors of power, whatever party she belongs to. I think tactical voting and voting for individuals is the way this election is going to go.
Second highest majority in the country - get in!
