I'm now expecting a second post today.

My routine is to arrive early each day for the post, and return at least once later for the comments.
Splitting the posts to different times of the day, must up the total “visits to site” count considerably.

dg writes: not significantly.
I tend to look on here around 8am then check again later for comments and if I see another post then I'm always pleasantly surprised. 🙂
It's your blog and your rules, but I admit I am really disappointed when I find I have missed a quiz published later in the day. Disappointed, not peeved/angry/shirty etc.
I don't need notification from another application that a site has uploaded when I can check for myself.
The Old Reader RSS feed means I don't miss a thing in a timely manner. Mostly that is good. But some prematurely post and then cancel, but what they have written still comes through. That has been interesting a few times.
"I'm just playing with you by posting more " ... so you're the cat and I'm the mouse
It doesn't bother me - I usually scroll down to the previous post whenever I visit to see if there are any new comments so catch it then instead.

It can be disappointing if the new post is a quiz and I arrive to find it solved - but then they are often so tricky I give up and look anyway!
I visited your blog at JUST the right time yesterday, to make the first comment on your second posting LOL
I normally open you up about this time, then leave open and refresh several times during the day to top up on new commentators.
Therefore I always catch the "Y" at some point.
Always enjoy a "Y"!
I, for one, found the Open House postings utterly compelling.
I receive your posts (and those of others such as IanV and LR) through feedly over the course of the day and only visit your website to comment. Quizzes are the only mild frustration, and even then there's still often something left to mop up ... and I'll try to come up with all the answers anyway before looking at the comments.
I saw the 7am post yesterday and although I didn’t comment do like your Open House stuff.

I was out all day yesterday and extremely busy all day today so I’ve only just managed to log on and find three unread posts. What a treat!

Please don’t worry about the exact time of X and Y, it really doesn’t matter.
Why not footnote X with 'Y to follow'?
