I loved the old days of Open House! When you could scurry around London with a catalogue and see welcoming green banners everywhere. My most glorious day was seeing five places in, gosh, 2009.

I wish I continued the blog sometimes, as it would have been nice to see the write up of other Open House weekends.
You have an Instagram account? There are dozens of Diamond Geezers on Instagram, any clue as to which one yours might be?
I'm with Jayne on this - a simple catalogue and mostly no need to book ahead was for me a more enjoyable way to enjoy OH. I've also just remembered that back in those halcyon days I was once an OH volunteer at my then place of work - the Department for Culture, Media and Sport at its old Cockspur Street address. Guiding people around consisted of showing them the greenery and the waterfall in the atrium, then taking them upstairs for a tour of the Government Art Collection paintings hanging in the minsters' offices.
Just read through September 2002's blog postings - you were crankier in those days....
Echoing other comments - years ago there was a buzz of planning and visiting many places in a weekend without having to book or being too late to book.

I've noticed declining attendance and excitement which is a shame. My opinion would be to not make people book but better use technology to work out busy locations so people can maximise visits.
I once went to a pop concert in Westminster Hall. Julian Cope, very enjoyable.
