Happy birthday, DG! I'll be joining you in the "over 50" club in about six months.
Happy Birthday DG. I'm long past 51 so I can confirm you have a lot more to pack in. Enjoy your trip abroad and no doubt you'll be telling us all about it soon. As always thanks for your daily digest.
Many Happy Returns DG! And thank you for another wonderful year of writing! Enjoy a bottle of (insert brand name here) German bier tonight!
Love the "..because I can.."

Enjoy the day and the trip abroad.
Happy Birthday!! And thanks for your amazing blog.
Happy Birthday DG !
Happy Birthday!
Happy birthday, DG, and all the best for the new year in your life.

Happy birthday! Thank you for sharing your writing with us, and for giving us a place to witter on so.

A photo of a year-old balloon! Brilliant! Happy Birthday, DG.
Happy Happy Birthday dg.

Happy birthday DG!
Happy Birthday DG. Looking forward to reading about your birthday trip.
Happy Birthday 🎂🎉🎂
Wishing you a most happy birthday and many returns, DG
Are you going to be giving us any clues to guess as to where you're going?
Congratulations DG. I am almost a decade older and agree that even at 60 you are not as over the hill as you feared you might be. Activity is the key plus in my case following the advice of Clint Eastwood "don't let the old man in". However, I am hoping for a redundancy letter.
@Cornish Cockney(!)... Versailles?
It's raining, it's pouring, I hope DG's gone somewhere less boring. Cheesy greetings on your birthday anniversary.
Cheers. Here's to another happy year....
Happy Birthday DG.
Happy birthday youngster, the best years are still to come.
Ray
Happy Birthday DG. As a long-time reader, I would say you have really hit your stride in your 51st year and I turn even more avidly to your daily report.
Many happy Kittens!
Happy birthday, DG. One of my favourite people on the Internet, though I too seldom tell him that.
Happy birthday DG.
In a month's time I will be 71 and I think I can say that as long as your health holds up and you're not struggling financially the best years are yet to come. Since I retired seven years ago I feel as if my life has really started to be FUN!!
Keeping my annual rent rise to a mere 14%

Not receiving a redundancy letter

The ice berg and Titanic of modern life, here's hoping you can keep them apart for a few years yet.
Happy Birthday DG!
Yes, happy birthday indeed. When I turned 51 I would like to have added 'not having a quintuple bypass' to my list, but sadly I couldn't!
There's life in us old dogs yet though, keep up the excellent and entertaining work and thanks for all your efforts.
Happy birthday, DG. Enjoy your trip.
Happy Birthday DG! Thanks for a marvellous blog xx
congratulations on reaching the second half of your century
Happy Birthday!
HB DG

I'm about 3 months ahead of you in the "over 50" uncharted waters. I can't claim anything like your list of achievements but I'm fortunate not to have the daily nonsense of commuting or office politics. The compromise is having to be careful about money but that's no great hardship.

Enjoy your foreign wanderings and making memories.
Happy Birthday, DG! From someone a decade and a half ahead of you. Stay healthy and the best is yet to be. Enjoy your day.
Happy birthday! As my own 50th is rapidly looming (five weeks and counting), this is all very encouraging.
Happy Birthday DG, Have a wonderful time celebrating your special day,
Happy Birthday DG! It's always a pleasure to read your blog, I've been a daily reader for at least the last ten years. Have a lovely day and keep up the excellent work.
Happy Birthday DG!
The long-life balloon reminds me of one of those Illoom balloons with the little LED and watch batteries inside them. I activated one in August 2011, removed the light once the balloon had gone down, and kept it. The light remained lit (although very faint after a few weeks) until the middle of the following January.

Oh yeah, right. Happy Birthday!
Happy Birthday!

My sister has recently hit a significant number and is persuading us all to join her on one of those Dome roof walks.

I decided it's necessary to pick a year /day to start getting one day younger every day.
Happy Birthday, DG!
Hope you are having a happy birthday.
Happy Birthday DB!
Happy Birthday DG. I'll be joining you in the over 50 club in September. Good to know it's not too far over the hill. Have heaps of fun today.
Cxx
Happy Birthday DG!
I'm convinced you will have some very enjoyable highlights over the next twelve months which we all look forward to reading about.
Happy Birthday!

I've been waiting all day to be number 51, but I think I'm going to be one out...
... unless...

*types fast*
Happy birthday!
"birthdays"...who needs them? It just another ploy for a money-making spin. Presents, going out for meals, trips abroad, parties, cards, flowers, drinks etc. But if it makes you happy...
Happy birthday!
Another Andrew S? We may have to come to some arrangement.
(and Happy Birthday DG! Let yourself stop for tea occasionally now you're over 50.)
49 comments, so one more for 51
That didn't work, by the time I'd refreshed, it was up to 56 comments. Silly me.
hbdg hope the trip away is fun. As always really enjoy the blog and I am more than a decade older than you:)
Many Happy Returns...you're about seven months ahead of me.
Happy birthday to you. I hope that it was a great day for you.
Happy Birthday DG, and thanks for a refreshing daily read every day. Enjoy Abroad!
Happy Birthday DG!

As always, I look forward to reading about where you went to celebrate surviving your first half-century.

HBTYDG & MHROTD. At 20 years beyond you, I can say that life holds plenty of pleasures and excitements in those eventful decades. I hope you had a splendid day and I look forward to the blogical outcome.
Bit late in the day but happy birthday!
Three times seventeen!
I looked back at life 17 and 34 years before when I turned 51 but that was nearly 7 years ago...
Keep brightening our lives with your blog!
All the best.
Hoping you had a very Happy Birthday, DG
Happy birthday, old chap, you're still young. Not surprised you lost weight: how far did you walk on your visit to Newbury a few weeks back?
Belated greetings - can't look in every day as I've become too busy. I retired four and a half years ago and have never been busier nor happier.

You can't stop growing old but no-one says you have to grow up; I tried being an adult briefly a long time ago and decided it wasn't for me. My inner child is alive and well, having just passed its 65th birthday, and enjoying the 'perpetual red rover' (Freedom Pass) - being of a later age is definitely worth having and enjoying.

Best wishes from the Hackney Wick readership.
Many happy returns this week Geezer!!!!! Above I thought Herbof said, '..I look forward to the biological outcome' and became confused.
