Certainly could "of" done better!
Aah! That'll teach me to read the whole question ...!
At first I thought you were off sick, or on holiday, and had left the daily task to a talented neighbour..
UX postcode dear boy? Then not asking a comment to be left?

You’re baiting us out!
Oh the disappointment. I was all prepared for a wonderful finale of someone still displaying a number using the old alphabet code - Call VICtoria 2714 or the like. Never mind, a fun read nonetheless.
I’m going to be here

Awaiting for the incorrect UX postcode to be clarified

I’ve got all day
What? With a massive temptation like J. Ayre all over the post?
Of course I can't resist.
J. Ayre is not only a good bakery it's a b****y good bakery by English standards.
But… but… I’ve got an 01 (with three lines!) in Thames Ditton. How much better could it get?
To say that Middlesex doesn't exist just because it has no council, is like saying England doesn't exist because it has no parliament. New "County Of Middlesex" signs have been put up in recent years in Cat Hill and other places.
Still waiting with kind regards, do let us know about the UB postcode.
*Could have

Thank you for the link to the recipe for gypsy tart, that's tomorrow's dessert sorted.

By the way you have spelled Carpenders Park wrong.
There may no longer be a county called Middlesex but there was once and it remains in the memory never to be forgotten.
I can't believe that nobody has commented on the appalling errors in todays blog.
Sorry
I thought yesterday's comment box was too good to be true
And I thought everybody had done so well yesterday 🤣
Played by the rules yesterday, but still spent a good while wondering why B&K Salt Beef Bar ever thought it was necessary (or useful) to display their full postal address on the shop front.

Boundary stones.. Essex. Interesting but not comment worthy.
Very interesting read about the boundary stones today. I've been aware of these for some time, but I've never tracked them down. Maybe I'll visit after the heatwave ...
The Weald Stone in Harrow, Middlesex, is easy to see via a bus from Harrow & Wealdstone Station. (See Wiki entry)
Haha, and there was me thinking everyone had been so restrained yesterday, and also that the number of comments today was particularly high!!
As an ex Romford lad I thoroughly enjoyed the boundary stone account today and also the excellent link at the end. Many thanks.
Also, between 1839 and 1965, this marked the boundary between the Met Police area and the Essex county force bailiwick. Romford was taken into the Met on 1.4.65, but it took 35 years more to take those bits of Essex left in the Met to be removed from it!
If we're talking about yesterday, then hooray for Gypsy Tart, a regular in my school dinners. Gypsy Tart makes you fart etc...
I grew up just around the corner from here and one of my school history projects was dedicated to this stone, with tangential mention of the coal tax post. Reading this article certainly brought back memories!
We did!
