Actually Wickford is populated by cats and a giant spider with an ipod.

Oh and Metroland? http://flickr.com/groups/metro-land

dg writes: Yes Debs, I know - half the photos in that group are mine. But you still can't see them all on one map, not like you could last week.

In the new map view, if you press Search and then Go without entering a search field, the zoom buttons appear.

The Flickr team know this bug and promise to fix it soon.

Totally agree this is a complete mess. I've nearly 3000 pics all geotagged to within an inch, now when I look at my map page I get 3 dots. Make me feel like I wasted my time.

Despite the fact that there is actually a flickr group for Deptford, no-one seems to have taken a picture there either!

Cardinal rule of the internet: Everything that Yahoo! touch turns inexorably to shit.

Cardinal rule 2 of the internet: No such thing as a free lunch.

If it was free Blue Witch I'm sure we could live with it, but an awful lot of people have paid for Flickr, and spent a lot of time and effort on it.

Thank goodness I never bothered with all that old Flick. rrrrrr I know someone in Wickford who loves cats too.. Must be the Essex Air.. Hope he reads this..?

I must admit I'd never heard of flickr maps. Now it's too late...

Never liked Flickr. Aren't they owned by Y!a!h!o!o!!! anyway? that would explain the 'upgrade'.

Yes Steve, but there's paying and there's paying the true cost. Pro- users have simply paid a bit to upgrade their storage and functionality.

Funny that, because Flickr's original geotagging wasn't bad at all at spotting London areas - although quirks like the obselete "New Charlton" and the unhelpful "Newham" could still muck it up.
