Hooray for archives!

Hurrah indeed.

You have to follow the right path down through the archived pages, but the maps and directions do appear to be downloadable :)

Like keeping an website up for a few months costs anything that TfL would notice.
"That's right, TfL are taking down the Walk London website before its replacement is fully up and running."

They did the same for the main TfL website. There are still bits which don't work.
I've no problem with the Walk London information transfering to the TFL we site; lets hope that in the long term it saves money.

But there seems to be no logic to close the Walk London site before the information is available through the TFL site. I can only imagine that its a result of Walk London's contract expiring before TFL can make the changes in their site and some internal dispute about budgets. If so, it shows how the interests of beaurocratic organisation win out over the interests of residents.
And that's seven years of blogpost links destroyed overnight too, sigh.
That's really depressing. Hard to figure why on earth they're doing this.
I think they do this with the underground service too. There's so many large gaps between trains sometimes, that I think they have withdrawn the old stock before the new trains are ready. Ho hum
Recreational walking perhaps doesn't have as high a Return on Investment for TfL as does city walking (reduces tube and bus passenger numbers marginally) so the Legible London pillars get a higher priority than boots on footpaths, I guess (no I don't work for them).
Totally f**king Ludicrous :(
Sigh. I'd better pass this info onto our walk organizer when we do the next section this month then. Thanks for the heads up.
Perhaps they should have asked the ramblers association if they would like to host the walk's web pages until the new site is up and running. Otherwise I don't know how much documentation is around about the Jubilee Greenway and for some of the other walks you may need to get the expensive books.
