Southend museum and planetarium
Beecroft art gallery
Fish and chips (not got anywhere in town to recommend but Simply Seafood at Leigh is nice)
Mr Simms sweet shop opposite the Royals shopping centre
Southchurch Park and boating lake (may be some remote control boats being sailed)
There's a really good Turkish restaurant on York Road around the back of the bus station
