You are correct - section 6 is an absolute corker. Hilariously inaccurate distance estimate in the old guide though - it's a bit further than 4.5 miles from Wimbledon Park to Richmond Station...

I have to say that I think that this walk is as good as any in the world. Maybe we always dismiss it because it is on our own doorstep or a lot of it is familiar but I think that in its own different way it is just as good as a walk in the Himalayan foothills or tramping on the South Island in New Zealand.

The next section's pretty good too. Syon Park, the Grand Union from Brentford to Hanwell Locks (I recommend the Fox as a lunchtime stop) and then up the Brent valley under Wharnecliffe Viaduct, one of IK Brunel's original masterpieces. I might not go for PoP's superlative but it's a lovely walk, ain't no doubt about it.
