Question is...was it done because you mentioned it or does TfL have a "bus stop special ops team" who keep tabs on such things?!
I am sure that there are a number of DG followers who, as a result of such posts, have checked their local bus stops, but none of them report them any errors here. Nor do they report here that they have reported them and they have been corrected. This leads me to conclude that TfL "know where you live" and so do it wrong just so you can blog about it ...
But I could be wrong.
Worrying about which order things come in is just a form of ODC.
Worrying about it maybe, but generally desiring the numbers to be in order is surely normal? I would be more worried about people who think that it's perfectly ok for the numbers to be in any order!
I think you'll find the order is O then C then D.
If TfL want to have rules, let them apply them.
It's like which side the open end of a hotel pillowcase is or the triangular fold on the loo roll or Van Halen's contract demand for no brown M&Ms. A way of checking that people do the job they're paid for.
Jimmy may have been having a laff. Anyway, it's Obsessive Cat Disorder. Not much of that around here ...
How many thousands of bus stops are there? If we really expect them all to show the correct route numbers, in the right order, all of the time, we are bound to be disappointed. What would be an acceptable failure rate?
Very few London bus stops are as complicated as this one - it's the A9 that creates issues.

Normally if you go 'numbers, letters, nightbuses' there's no problem.
Well, I'm pleased that the 'whatever' culture does not reign and that those little rules are not only followed and implemented but put right when wanting.
@ Antipodean, surely being obsessive about cats isn't a disorder. I thought it was perfectly normal.
@ Grumpy Anon - There are area controllers employed by TfL that look after the bus network. They respond to incidents, install / remove diversion signs for buses and generally keep an eye on things. However they have very large areas to manage so I doubt they check every bus stop on a regular basis.

Take it as read that TfL keep an eye on all forms of media to see what is being said about them. There will be someone who casts an eye on DG's blog just as they do for other blogs and forums. I'd not be surprised that someone got a "to do" item about stop B off the back of what DG wrote. DG's blog carries more "weight" because it is not the writings of one person but because it is read by many, many people and other media outlets. They also know that DG will report when things are "fixed" so there is always the prospect of an positive report about TfL - *if* the problem is fixed properly.
'OCD' should be written at 'CDO' .. because then the letter are alphabetically sorted. Much better.

:-D
@Geofftech

CDO used to stand for Crafty Day Off when I worked. Now I'm retired everyday is a DO.
When it comes to TfL action on matters mentioned in media (MmM), DG probably gets some priority, I agree. But more likely because experience would suggest that when DG says something is wrong, it actually is wrong, in possible contrast to other MmM.
around my area it's not tiles on bus stops that is causing controversy, but the theft (?) of bus shelters

News from darkest SW London

Actually, no news.

Two weeks in, and still no live running information on the three temporary routes, or at the stops on the diverted 65.

Other than posting on here, how can we get TfL to wake up and sort this out?
timbo,

No news from Croydon either. The Tramlink map online is still the out of date one that was superseded in April and the Tramlink guide is still not online but you can get a printed version if you know about it and go to the Tramlink Information Office in George Street.
@ Timbo - the 571, 572 and 565 all show up in London Vehicle Finder so the data for them has been added by TfL. It was added after the routes started running but it is there. The latest update info on the TfL digital blog also references the above services. A quick look at LVF shows the amended 65 route info is reflected there too.

However I agree that the migration has not reached the TfL website. This, for some unfathomable reason, is par for the course. It can take up to a month for revised route data to be reflected on the TfL website for live running info for buses. The old "useless" (if you are TfL) Countdown website was nearly always updated in advance and switched across seamlessly. Still I am sure TfL IM will try to persuade us that the "new" site is all wonderful. Still no news on their Digital Blog as to how they are going to "improve" the bus live arrivals info to deal with the litany of complaints they received when old Countdown was scrapped.
FOREVER.

IT WILL NEVER END.
