Right I'm confused now, does this mean I will be looking out for a book by Diamond Geezer or not?

I am confused! Does this mean your book is about to hit the shelves, DG?

Barry - snap!

Having written a couple or so books - one under extreme bullying pressure, I empathise. Next time, make sure the contract has at least some clauses that you insist upon!

Congratulations DG. I'm looking forward to getting my hands on your magnum opus.

Wow. What a fantastic 'reveal'.

That means I have to make an unexpected trip to a bookstore before the end of this month!

EskimoPie - Great minds think alike.

tintinhaddock - great name, bet I can guess what books you like. As for his "magnum opus" isn't that a new choc ice from Walls?

This is certainly an interesting story, and I look forward to the next instalment. I have a feeling that the real 'reveal' is yet to come ...

Deadlines? DEADLINES?!

Learn to say "You'll get it when it's done", and they'll go home happy

@ the confused people: note that yesterday's blogpost was titled 'Preface'; today's is 'Contents'. It's almost like a story is being told, isn't it? :)

Larry Lard - Where is it titled? I never see any title, all I ever see at the top is the date.

@ Barry: ooh that's interesting. The RSS feed carries the post title, and it's also in the hyperlink target for 'posted' (as can be seen when mousing over it), but you're right, it isn't actually *displayed* on the page itself...

Maybe it's supposed to be an easter egg-type-thing!

Larry - I've just seen the posted link and you're right when you hover your pointer over it it does tell you the title. I don't use an RSS reader (in fact I'm a bit of a luddite and don't really know what one is) so I have never been aware of these posts having titles.

Interest is well-piqued.... Go DG!

I'm very intrigued. I do hope this has a 'happy' ending.

But hopefully not a 'happy ending'.

Publishing is a weird industry. It's the only place where everyone pretty much *expects* that everything will be done about twice as late as projected - and, because nobody's salaried, doesn't even mind the fact (construction achieves the first of these, but not the second). And everything's forgiven once you deliver the copy.

As the man said`Do you want it good or do you want it thursday`

Reading this is killing me; it's almnost as bad as writing my two books. Almost. I really hope the Index post will be a good (happy) conclusion.

This is just like a soap opera, left cliff-hanging at the end of each instalment. How many more chapters to come?

If a book is due this or next month it would now be listed at on-line book stores. And I couldn't find anything from 'diamond geezer'.

On the other hand if the book was finally cancelled I wouldn't think dg would write that much about the fiasco.

Hmm

No, I didn't spot a thing. But I am pleased that the writing has been completed whilst maintaining your prodigious rate of output and we will therefore not suffer a drop in DG during production. Look forward to reading it (offline)

This booktease is undoubtedly going to be longer than the book.

Oh wow! It sounds like it's imminent then! Keeping us on tenterhooks, aren't you!!

DG is just being coy. I've already got hold of an advance copy of his book (I have my 'sources', you see). I have to say that "Cooking the Geezer Way" wasn't what I expected, but having followed his instructions in Chapter 4 and gone to a traffic island in the middle of the A13 just outside Beckton to cook a fried egg sandwich on a portable gas stove, I think it worked rather well. Congrats DG - and I promise I won't reveal the note at the end of the book about your next publication being called Geezer's Cheeses. Oh. Damn.

I hope it's not like that DG guided tour somewhere in West London ;-)

Apart from being listed on an RSS feed, each blog's title is also in the URL, I just noticed...

i once bought DG a book in America, called "So you think you can Geezer?" [seriosuly}. maybe it's just the british version of that?

Looking forward to the next installment, so long as there is a happy ending (i.e. a book to go and buy!)

Confused about the post titles though; nothing on screen, and URL just seems to be a very long number

dg writes: My posts have two URLs. For the URL with a title, try pointing at/clicking on the word 'posted' at the bottom of the post.

Did this get abandoned & morph into to last years' Lost River series I wonder...

Thanks DG, have now found the titled URL.
