Is the Dangleway open for essential journeys only? (Are there any essential journeys which can be made by Dangleway?) Perhaps its reopening means that DG can now reach a hill.
OOOh, great! I've been looking forward to this!
Celebrations all round!
I reckon the Dangleway could be extended to all parts of London, to allow isolated travel for all, as the tube is too dodgy. As the forest of Magic Money Trees has been discovered, finance should be no problem :-)
It's rather puzzling that it wasn't reopened earlier, to help staff travel to the nearby Nightingale Hospital when it was in use.

dg writes: It was, but not for public use.
Seasides's very own British Airways i360 Viewing Tower remains closed alas. Like the dangleway it is a money pit and has been carting fresh air up & down for some time now.
Given the fact that the Dangleway is the only safe way to travel these days, perhaps a few extensions should be considered. How about one branch to Barts, another to St. Thomas's, and maybe a third to St. Mary's? Might have to lose the Emirates branding though. Maybe it could be called the Johnson Dangleway.
It's almost as if the whole virus situation was somehow engineered so that DG could write this post!
“ The Thames Barrier remains open.”

Very good!
And from next Tuesday the Dangleway becomes free before 09.30. I assume the long way round option is too busy...

From Tuesday 26 May, passengers using the Emirates Air Line service before 09:30 Monday to Friday will not be charged. Please note, passengers will not need to tap in and out at the EAL gate-line, but will need to do so as normal for other parts of their journey to ensure the correct fee is charged (ie. any interchanges at Royal Victoria or North Greenwich). Due to social distancing measures only 1 passenger is allowed per cabin, unless from the same household.
