Broadstairs?

Cromer! Surely. Conan Doyle connection. Sheringham next door.

(You are Mr Kolley Kibber. I claim the Daily Messenger prize.)

I'm thinking (not entirely convinced, mind), Bexhill and Hastings.

(I'd say Southend and Leigh-on-Sea if you want kebab-shop and classy resorts next to each other but they are under an hour from tahn, and what cliffs there are sure ain't chalky, so it definitely isn't them.)

Dover? There's Dover Castle, the famous White Cliffs, and according to Wikipedia, Jeffrey Archer once taught at Dover College. Its neighbour would be Folkestone.

Wait a second, which self-respecting community would allow itself to endure a Jeffrey Archer museum?

Actually, it could be Broadstairs. That would make sense, as if the other two towns are Ramsgate and Margate, that would make a nice little triangle of towns on the Isle of Thanet.

Wikipedia says Charles Dickens lived in Broadstairs, and there is also Kingsgate Castle there as well.

Never again.
