The gate near to the path by Turkey Brook has been kept locked as plants were being stolen. I believe it is occasionally unlocked for special events but then it will be staffed.
You forgot to mention the forgot-me-nots...
I love the "comments"
I’m too scared to leave a comment this morning šŸ˜šŸ˜
I can't believe you forgot to mention...

A happy "discovery" a week ago, Park Wood near Harefield (the London LOOP passes it) has stunning bluebells, some of the best I've seen in London, as they are everywhere, and it's slightly off the beaten track.
The bluebells were fantastic over easter at Emmetts.
looks like DG has just made us all redundant.

A pretty convincing argument for why I need to stop procrastinating and visit soon. (not just for the cafe)
There is a photo in the cafe of Gussie Bowles with my grandfather and others.

Also Wanstead Park is good for bluebells...
I love bluebell fields, they're beautiful and a great aspect of spring. The gardens too look spectacular, and they're free entry too - unlike so many in London.

Regarding the comments, it's always a treat getting a more experimental blog, DG. And you've nailed internet commentry very well too.
I seem to remember that many years ago Edward's spade was also threr to be admired at Wisely Gardens. Maybe still is ... or he had two!

As an erstwhile local, you will no doubt remember the lovely carpets of blue in Whippendell and Harrocks Woods near Watford.
Plenty of Bluebells in Highgate Woods ;-)
Will be a while before the bluebells get going here in the high Dales. The daffodils are still going strong and the tulips just starting.

But when they do get going they do so in a big way. Not in woodland (though they might have been 300 years ago) but en masse on the open hillside. The walk between Keld and Muker is particularly recommended. The field that goes completely blue that's visible from our back garden is a little harder to get to though.
You used my name! I feel called out...
Have been enjoying the bluebells on my own woodland walk today - lovely!
The woodlands around Chenies Manor have loads of bluebells in spring
Been in Oxfordshire this week, bluebell verges with a backdrop of yellow Rapeseed. Stunning!
Edward who?

(Call it a not-awake-yet moment)
Big thanks for this piece. Visited today and was delighted by the place.
