Yes, a really enjoyable day: I was able to ride over to the Isle of Dogs (Canary Wharf included), the Greenwich Peninsula, and Woolwich, and was impressed by everything I saw.
I even got to go on one of the boats, a 'pilot cutter'
I think I half-expected to be disappointed by some of the '2nd tier' locations but, no, every place I went seemed brimming with enthusiasm, both from the crowds and from the stall-holders and people there to, as it were, 'entertain them.'
And, hey, there's still more to come, including - tomorrow - a parade by the (quote) "Puffers and Dunkirk boats" :)

Only got to go on one of the boats? I got to go on four this morning, at the North Greenwich outpost, early in the day when there were minimal queues. And yes, getting aboard the boats made all the difference, much more interesting...
Blimey, you should see the bellyaching about the Tall Ships going on at the 853 blog (kindly listed on the right by DG).

Must confess, as a southside local who s suspicious of the yachting/boating set I've avoided everything like the plague -- and a good thing to according to some of the whinges on 853!
Yes, only one of the boats - for today. I didn't want to overdo it. I'm... pacing myself :)
No sails, just rigging. Even the ships moving around used motors. Ships at North Greenwich 'closed for lunch'. Two (small) ships at Greenwich itself. Greenwich impassable due to fenced sides of roads and impossible crush of people. Whole experience thoroughly underwhelming and crap.
