So, when I visit these famous bus stops in November, if I took the tube to Mile End Station (to save a bit of time) and then caught a no 25 bus at stop D, I'd stay on a few stops and then alight at Stop G, Bow Church?

https://tfl.gov.uk/bus/stop/490004206G/bow-church?lineId=25

... or am I confused?

I wouldn't bother mate!
There's no longer a stop G at Bow Church, there's a stop M, in the same place where stop G used to be.

If you're on board a 25, it won't display 'Bow Church', it'll display 'Bow Flyover' (which is at Bow Church).
... I'm presuming 'it' is the on-board electronic destination screen? So, I look for 'Bow Flyover' on that and hop off there, but at Stop M, which says 'Bow Church'?

Now off to see what there is to do in the area...
.. it is possible, maybe even probable, that by November everything will be fixed, and the on-board screen (and spoken announcement) will say Bow Church. If you get back on the bus (don't walk because of the dangerous roundabout), you can visit the Olympic Park, which DG has talked about, and also enjoy a walk along the top of Bazalgette's famous meridian sewer, which he has probably also described.
By November it may be something entirely different, possibly "Diamond Geezer Memorial Stop" if the legions of annoyed TfL personnel try to assassinate him. Mind you, they would probably have as much luck doing that as the goons trying to assassinate Inspector Clouseau at Oktoberfest, if they're as handy with blowpipes, guns and umbrellas as they are with the simple task of correctly labelling a bus stop.
Perhaps DG will be kind enough to produce a blog entry circa November 16 that will bring me up to date... (if he has not been taken out by TfL)

Sounds like a great day out in East London! A Flyover and a Sewer!

BUSES.

EAST LONDON.

BOW.

FOREVER.

Re the Night Tube: Quite clearly there has been an upfront cost for all the changes to the signage etc and there also be additional running costs (whatever the result of the current pay / conditions talks with the Unions) in such things as the additional cleaning gangs.
Given these additional costs and the potential for the Night Tube to abstract revenue from the Night Buses, I assume that someone in LUL has the calculations which show that the Night Tube will make a profit for LUL and that they are happy to publish them.
@ Bert and Jane: If you're vegetarians, don't keep going to the butcher's shop. Other blogs are available !

@ Strawbrick: The Night Tube is an essential public service in a major capital city such as London; you really can't expect people to endure slow, overcrowded and unreliable night buses after an evening out, nor should they be expected to drive home after drinking. The 1230 curfew is a needless dampener on the capital's economy for those going out, for those providing their entertainment, not to mention nurses and other shift workers in essential services.

In any case, tube fares are higher than bus fares, there will be revenue gains from sales to those who would never have considered night buses, and some night bus services will be reduced.
... Discovered the Ragged School Museum... That's a good start.
@Antipodean: group trip to Bow? dg can lead a tour. If it's good enough for midtown, bow needs its own tour.
@Gerry
"The 1230 curfew is a needless dampener on the capital's economy for ............nurses and other shift workers in essential services. "

Maybe so, but most shift workers work more than two nights a week.

I can remember when the night buses ran every night EXCEPT Saturday, because that is the only night off for most market porters, newspaper staff etc.

And none of this going home at 3am - in those days, we used to party until the first Tube! (Or, if you were out of Town, going home on the Milk Train)
If I was still working shifts (including nights) the last thing I'd "want" to do is share my journey to or from work with a loads of drunk people, thank you very much! And that I was not a "essential services" worker.
@ Louise - I think a DG led tour of Bow would be a wonderful idea!

... and although it isn't quite in the area ending up at Lady Dinah's Cat Emporium would be a perfect place to either kick off the tour or end it :).

So far I have the Church, the Nunnery, the Ragged School and the Cat Emporium on my list for a nice day out in the East End :)
is the appearance of 205 an allowance for a potential service terminating there (rather than the bus garage) if then heading towards a depot east of bow roundabout? Just a hypothesis...
You haven't mentioned the on-line spider maps - they haven't been changed.
I found the one of the references to the benefits of the night tube amusing - it says that if you are going for a 9am business meeting in Geneva you didn't have to stay a night away from your loved ones but could catch an earlier night tube to the airport for an early filght (completely missing the fact that this would only work for the very occasional 9am business meting that happens in Geneva on a Saturday or Sunday morning!).
