"Help Me" The Secrets of using 112 on a mobile phone in an emergency/accident is a six minute YouTube video on registering your phone and why it may improve your chances of connecting, and possiblt surviving.
Thanks for the 999 tip.

If you'd had an extra minute or two would you have edited the shonky middle sentence on the Greenland Dock Wikipedia page?
Lovely photo of Greenland Dock. My stepdaughter and family have lived in the estate behind the Moby Dick pub for 3 years and I was always curious about the name but never thought to look up the details. They're about to move away and I'll be paying my last visit tomorrow, so your post is very timely.
Bugger. You've made public the emergency blog post routine that those of us who work odd hours use, although I "elegantize" the Wikipedia bits I nick.
Great effort in only 2 hours. Despite rushing it, you still have a writing style that engages. I used to keep up a regular blog (not daily, as you), and I know the amount of effort that goes into organising, writing, editing, re-writing, re-editing.

I used to live over the other side on the Isle of Dogs, and walked along the river (as much as one can over that side) looking at the Rotherhithe bank.
I lived in Rotherhithe for years and knew that area well as I also worked in the area for two of those years.

I never knew about the boundary stone, well spotted!
I feel as though I've walked in on an argument, I'll walk out again.

But at least you thought the shonky looking 999 notice was worth checking out, how many thought it was some scam.
I enjoy that particular walk, apart from the Morden Wharf section, and agree that Enderby Wharf is an eyesore.
Your photo is a reminder how the ever-extending Docklands developments appear impressive from a distance, whilst being a soulless and underwhelming experience from within.
Well, you got out and spotted the places in person, there's at least a degree of originality, instead of using photos from the past...or from someone else.

And thanks, the article made me look up my local river-sewer again to refresh a few historic details.
Two uses of 'shonky' in the first 9 comments is, I imagine, a record.
There is a better way of alerting the police to an emergency 999 situation when you can't speak... dial 999 then press 55 once connected, or say nothing.

I doubt that emergency text line meant for deaf people is set up to cope with huge volumes of calls.
For comparison on high speed blogging, I suggest looking at Ernie Smith's "Midrange" blog. Fairly complex topics in just 30 minutes of writing on the clock. He's freelance, has written for Vice, Atlas Obscura.

At the moment he has a series on Mastodon which kind-of breaks the rules, go back to October to see typical content. And his longer form articles on his Tedium website
The boundary between Kent / Surrey has been up for debate in the past particularly for Hatcham which was in Deptford St. Paul.

Stealing from british-history.ac.uk...

"It apparently came a little later to Randulph Crew, east country merchant and citizen of London, who in 1635 was holding a manor of Hatcham and was assessed for ship money on it in both Kent and Surrey. He objected to paying double on the same land, and on 31 December 1635 his petition to the Council was referred to the Judges of Assize in the two counties, who reported that he was rightly assessed in Surrey, where he had paid."
"I'm not super-knowledgeable"...and yet, you disprove this statement nearly every day. At our age, its not knowing all the answers, its knowing where to FIND all the answers that shows true knowledge.
As a librarian I was always told it's not knowing the answer to a question that's important but knowing where to find the answer to the question!
If you need dial 999 and remain silent then you can press 55 when prompted to get through to the police.

The choice of 5 predates smart phones. The 5 button on an old mobile phone had a raised spot, so was easy to find.
If nothing else, this post taught me the word revetment.
