Hope it's not the last station Boris opens. I like Boris. We don't want any wierdo new mayor coming up with stupid ideas like the last incumbent.

Who is a decent replacement who is not going to turn London into the Republic of Thirdworldia?
The 339 extension to Whipps Cross has been "postponed". This is probably due to the massive reconstruction of Whipps Cross roundabout due as a result of Waltham Forest's winning "Mini Holland" cycling bid. The drawings of the final scheme appear not to have any extra stand space for the 339. Of course some smart alec (ahem) gave TfL a completely different option for dealing with the 339 extension but they ignored it in the consultation.
Lea Bridge station is supposed to be redone this year... http://www.walthamforest.gov.uk/Documents/WFN%2085.pdf
It not when the cycle lane is empty that there is going to be a problem. It's when it busy and a bus crosses to or from the stop. Who has right of way? The term "cycle super-highway" is misleading. I use buses, cycle and drive in London. It only people who have seen all points first hand that are really best to judge. Maybe road planning/traffic management or whatever they call it nowadays should be put under review. All this messing about, changing this and that and back again must be keeping alot of people in work but costing who knows how much. As a footnote: the only time I have been knocked-off a bicycle was whilst riding (legally) in a bus lane. Hope it never happens again...
I assume the cycle has right of way over the bus, as it is the bus which has to change lanes to get into the bus stop.
But remember:
"Here lies the body of William Jay,
Who died maintaining his right of way.
He was dead right, as he sped along,
But he'd be just as dead if he were wrong."

Maybe, and I no expert, a camera should be installed so at least things can be recorded. If there are any "near-misses" then action can hopefully be taken before something more serious occurs. Buses and bicycles seem not go well together.
@ E - it is worth noting that nearly all buses now have forward facing cameras fitted. This is for the purpose of filming any form of accident or near miss to defend against spurious insurance claims. Clearly such evidence would also be very useful in the instance you cite.

I also agree with you about the issue of traffic management / highway changes. Having witnessed the creation of months of chaos for no great purpose or improvement close to my home I am now very sceptical. I can see most of what has been done locally in recent weeks / months / years having to be ripped out and reworked again as a result of my council winning a "Mini Holland" cycling bid. Having skim read the proposals as well as many other TfL highway consultations I am left wondering if anyone has a clue what they are doing. I'm not a highway engineer but I struggle to see the point of so much of the roads spending as no one ends up better off.

Yes, I "forgot" about the forward facing cameras on buses. It also true that a few cyclists have now cams fitted to helmets or cycles. But I would prefer a independant view. Can imagine that if, for example, the bus was mostly to blame then maybe the "camera was working at the time" line may be rolled out. It all becomes a case of who watches the watchers.
