I was unhappy when Westminster Council banned those sandwich boards, they I not keen on the street stalls in Oxford Street either I heard recently.

Another Westminster Council scheme that annoys me, they have closed and filled in the very useful subways at the Marble Arch end of Oxford Street, near the Odeon and the tube station. Everyone now has to walk across Park Lane or Edgware Road at traffic level.

Must say I have never visited the Golf Shop. I do visit the 2 Computer fairs off Tottenham Court Road on Saturdays, which are still advertised by people standing around with boards coming under Camden Council jurisdiction.

Wow! I never knew that this shop actually existed. Thanks, DG.

So that's where that shop is. The never-ending sale - I wonder if this is where DFS got the idea from?

Really? It's true this time???? Wow! Times do change.

I know that street all too well. I'll believe that shop is closing when I see it. Talking of which, the bookshop located past Oxford Circus near the BBC, that's supposedly been closing down for months now - surprise, surprise, it's still open.

I am experimenting to see whether you notice comments on ancient postings. It's more than six years since this blog and, according to google street view, the golf sale is still there, and it looks pretty much the same. Did the landlords change their minds, or is the lettings market really that bad ?
Don't worry, I read everything :)

The Golf Sale shop is still there but Westminster Council no longer allows them to have a man with a placard in the street.
The placard has since appeared on television - in the crowd at Glastonbury festival.

I wonder whether the council could have banned the advert if it was printed on his shirt.
