Well Hall Pleasaunce is really beautiful. |
Well Hall Pleasaunce is a little gem. Personally I prefer it when it's cold and a bit quieter, a bit of peace in all the madness |
Yes, Well Hall Pleasaunce is one of my favourites, too. Earlier in the year they had an evening open-air screening there of The Railway Children, which was part of a series of free events to commemorate Greenwich's connections with films. The event included a guided tour of the grounds (which took a good pause at the mulberry tree, whose fruit were just reaching ripeness), plus a scale railway club which had laid a section of track, to give rides to anyone who wanted to get into the railway spirit. You recently mentioned seeing parakeets on your travels in SE London - you may well have seen (or heard) them here, too. |
Once again the DG blog has uncovered a literary treasure trove I never knew about. And since I can't visit Well Hall in person, I'll be visiting my local library for more about Edith Nesbit, as it looks like she had a fascinating life. Thanks! |
Erm... it certainly seems that way It appears some of the Fabian Society had some rather, er, flexible views towards stuff like marriage and relationships |
Yes, but what about the meridian?!! *ducks and runs* |
