Fascinating as always. I love the inclusion of Waitrose details!

However, M25 South looks like a typo.

dg writes: it's not.
Shocked! Shocked, I tell you!
DG stopped by a bit of rain ... what is the world coming to?
:O)
M25 Junction 24 is wholly within Hertfordshire.

The boundaries with the London Borough of Enfield are around 600m towards Cockfosters on Stagg Hill (A111), 400m towards Enfield on The Ridgeway (A1005) and just East of the junction on the M25 itself.

Junction 25 is, however, wholly within the London Borough of Enfield, with the boundary being on the A10 to the North of the junction.

dg writes: That was a typo. Fixed, thanks.
(Your M25 junctions are confusing)

Most eastern, your good.
Most western is J16, Denham, with the M40
Most southern is J8, Reigate Hill
Most northern is J21, Chiswell, with the M1
(measured at the centre of the junction so not counting slip-roads)
Ooops, apologies, "London"
What DG has listed are the M25 junctions at the extremities that are inside (the working definition of) London. Most of the M25 lies outside London so isn't in scope.
Surely the most northerly CoOp isn't Lavender Hill, unless there's another Lavender Hill that isn't in Battersea.

dg writes: never risk a surely.
As postcodes are (were?) designed for delivering mail, why are the southernmost and westernmost houses not respectively in the southernmost and westernmost postcode areas?

dg writes: re-read the last two bullet points.
Alas Uxbridge police station closed a couple of years ago. Rumour has it Hillingdon's sole police station is in Hayes End.
Always like it when you feature my doorstep. I'll bore the family with my repeated use of the most northern Co-op in London tales... also enjoyed revisiting Enfield 2004 (not much has changed, except house prices)
Would be interesting to add most NSEW"early" destination possible on an Freedom Pass/Oyster Card (not contactless, that would be silly, and possibly limited to stations covered by a zonal season ticket, not a "special" which would knock out Reading, St. Albans, Gatwick, etc.).

Presumably a subset of stations that can handle oyster but are not in a London boro (some of the bus stops will be further, although there will be some non London bus stops too). I'm seeing some maps and FOI that would help, but a quick search didn't show an already existing definitive list.

dg writes: not in London.
Great blog post dg. One little thing - AFC Hornchurch changed their name (back) to Hornchurch a couple of seasons ago.

dg writes: updated, thanks.
Now I'm off to hunt where the other Lavender Hill is, because I am 100% certain of Co-Ops north of Battersea.
Chz, TheOwl - try Enfield.
Nice to see the embassies listed. I have been trying to visit all of them in London during lockdown, given actual travel being out of the question.

Have yet to get to Vatican City (down on my list as the Apostolic Nunciature of the Holy See) - it's quite a schlep to Wimbledon for me
Unfortunately, Enfield Police Station is closed and for sale. The most Northerly Police Station in the borough is now Edmonton Green.
Is Spout Lane North between Heathrow and the M25 west of Royal Quay? Number 11 looks like a house.

dg writes: No.
The southernmost Co-op should be Rosehill (rather than Rosefield) Rd, Biggin Hill.

dg writes: updated, thanks.
The house I grew up in, in St Leonards on Sea, had a TN postcode. It's hard to believe TN stretches all the way from the Sussex coast to London.
Fascinating, a real prompt to visit Whitewebbs

Some of those locations also highlight how irregular the Greater London boundary is, with the likes of Enfield and Havering going out much further than the other boroughs near them
Sutton Hospital barely exists as a hospital now - only a chronic fatigue clinic remains as an outpost of Epsom St Helier. However the Royal Marsden Hospital, Sutton is on a neighbouring, more southerly, site. The original Sutton Hospital site is due to be redeveloped into a new hospital some time soon.

dg writes: updated, thanks.
The Met Police Find a police station webpage tells me Enfield Police Station is open 24 hours a day, and Hillingdon Police Station in Uxbridge is open but its front counter has closed.
Like Jonathan, I was surprised at how far north the TN postcode area stretches, currently being in a part of it a good forty miles from Charing Cross.
Thanks, this will help with a series of walks I'm considering!
When I was young we lived just a couple of yards south of Brackenbury Farm (most westerly scheduled monument). My sister and I were good friends with the girls who lived in Brackenbury House, part of the estate, and regularly visited. The house contained a priest hole. Thanks for bringing back memories DG!
I think The Old Orchard at Harefield is a few hundred yards west of the Kings Arms.

dg checks map and nods: Updated, thanks.
St John's Church Enfield, has not been a Methodist Church since July 2019. It is now known as 'The Space' and is run by the Methodist Circuit in Enfield and is an intergenerational neighbourhood centre for the residents of the Elsinge Estate.

dg writes: updated, thanks.
I think the most southerly football club should be Chessington & Hook United (of the 10th tier). Their ground is close to the local theme park which puts it just inside the Greater London boundary and further south than Sutton United.

dg writes: updated, thanks.
Told you it wouldn't be 100% correct.

Currently running at 93%.
The RM14 post code extends not just to Bulphan in Essex but way beyond to a brand new 80 house entirely car-dependent rural executive style development at Little Malgraves which is almost in Horndon-on-the-Hill and Basildon.

oh, and coming to RM14 soon, the elongated junction 29A for the Lower Thames Crossing

dg writes: see post two weeks ago.
Most westerly pub - I think it was right first time. Old Orchard is -0.4908W, King's Arms is -0.4914W.

dg checks map more carefully: reverted, thanks!
Here's a photo of the elusive King's Arms, Longford.
Most easterly house: the name of the bungalow to which the Streetmap arrow is correctly pointing is not Home Farm (which is just to the northwest) but Bolyngtons.
Out of interest TW19 postcode (i used to live in it) spans 3 counties - Greater London, Surrey & Berkshire
Most westerly house: Waterways Cottage (the lock cottage), Copper Mill Lock, Canalside, UB9 6JA, sandwiched between the Greater London boundary along the River Colne to the west and the Grand Union Canal to the east, just north and west of Royal Quay.
Strictly speaking, the Togo embassy is the furthest north. But that seems like being very particular, as a high commission is exactly an embassy except in name. Which would put Ghana further north. (Though I've no idea if it is the northen*most*)
