It's a fabulous walk. The view from Latimer House down the Chess Valley is one of my favourites. IIRC, the former village of Flaunden was relocated nearly two miles away to create it. Its remains are still accessible, along with the former parish church, in a small wood off the Chess Valley Path.
Looks lovely. I've just printed off the map, so that's this weekend sorted! :)
One of my favourite walks. Absolutely beautiful. Thanks for the photos, DG.
This is fascinating. I live out in Aylesbury and grew up in Amersham but have never heard of this walk before. Now I'm planning to do it at some point in the summer.
For DG and those who've walked this before: how much of the walk is following the banks of the river, or the river is at least visible?

Recently walked some of the Test Way down in Hampshire and was disappointed how at little actual river I saw. :(
One of my favourite walks too. But I am not so keen on the urban bit from the M25 to Rickmansworth station, so I tend to vary it by going through Church Sarratt and across the fields to Cassiobury Park and Watford station. (Might have to change this if they build the Croxley Link, though.)
