I know Rye House by the station and the stadium, but I've always wondered what the name originally referred to. Your informative post has made up for that little gap in my local knowledge!

So, I'm assuming it's Broxbourne → Cheshunt tomorrow?

I thought the Rye House plot was about assassinating both Charles and James. It was alleged to be a plot against the possibility of James succeeding, not about restoring him to the succession (Charles had already thwarted his opponents' attempt to do so).
