It's never enough about the Underground from your pen!
Something short and simple for the shortest month, maybe, so how's about the Victoria Line for February?

As for potential articles, how's about tube lines that never were? The Northern Heights extensions, the Central Line to Denham and the Fleet Line to Lewisham could all come to life under your gaze...
How about unexpected surprises. I really did not expect, on visiting a model railway exhibition in distant Brisbane, Australia, to find a model of my local tube station Turnpike Lane.

While we're on the Piccadilly, a good candidate for your Between The Lines theme DG would be Harringay - just come out of Manor House northbound and see how the 29 and 141 buses fill up. Then you can get some great Turkish / Kurdish grub when you've finished and head home via the Goblin which really ought to connect but of course doesn't.
"...and I promise not to overdo it."
Too late :)
What about: Ideas: Above Your Station.

What is on top of stations, where this is interesting enough.
How about oldest and newest - the oldest and newest stations/architectural features/staff/safety equipment etc. etc.?
I like the idea of Between the Lines especially. (which even works for the W&C, where there was talk a while ago about building a stop at Blackfriars)

For the Northern Line - have you previously covered the Deep Level Shelters which were originally planned to be a parallel express line?
Drawing the Line: best/worst tiled artwork on the platforms of each line (or anything else art-related).
"...and I promise not to overdo it."
Too late :)
Great Aunt Annie
Quite so!

cf. spaghetti at Kings Cross yesterday - how about foodstuffs associated with other random stations?
Quite keen on the idea of Between the Lines, and perhaps as above, some of the things built on top of stations.
Plaistow Station glass roof bridge and platform ironwork, columns and seats - superb! One of the unsung stations.
Therel was once a plan to extend the Central line past Ongar, all the way to Chelmsford. It never progressed as far as the Northern Heights idea did, needing no global conflict to kill the idea. And why tunnel through grit all the way to Morden and stop?
Some of us runners do crazy things related to the underground. My interview fees are reasonable.

Kittens on the Tube? Oooh, yes! Yes!! Yes!!!
Really enjoyed your ramble from Paddington to Farringdon.

You could follow the same format that you followed last week but confined to all zone 1 stations for each line to keep it manageable. That would include the most historic parts of London and more than a few disused/proposed stations.

It would also mean you could spend a few more days in January to get us as far as Aldgate/Aldgate East...
Slightly off topic, but I would really like to read more about some of the suburban train lines in London, especially south of the river where the tube doesn't penerate. And for the even longer term, perhaps a Crossrail and Thameslink before and after.
Don't know about kittens, but there are plenty of pigeons on the line!
How about terminus to terminus but not by tube? Cockfosters to Epping, Epping to Upminster etc.
Cool, just discovered you blog (via Scott's Merseyrail and beyond blog), it's really great, I'm sure what ever order you write about each line, it will be worth it :)).
I'm quite into photography, and plan to get some shots of the Holden designed stations when time allows (Arnos Grove being a classic example), do you know weather LT get staff can get sniffy about this?, or you need permission I guess is more the exterior architecture I'm into getting shots of.
Anyway, great work, really enjoying you writing, look forward to reading about all the LT lines in the coming months, Cheers :))
How about Tube stations whose names are mentioned specifically in the Domesday Book - offer us a "then and now" ...
I can not wait . As someone who visits the Capital a couple of time a year, I love the Underground. The Bakerloo is my favorite.
How about doing one tube station for every letter of the alphabet? Of course, you'd have to skip J, X, Y and Z as no tube stations begin with those letters, but that would still allow you to do two stations a month.
Surely there is only one way for this project to proceed!?
The JAM JAR method.
If you're busy...

How about an weekly extended-Queenswater challenge?

Queensway to Bayswater is (famously) two lines and one change at Notting Hill gate on the map, but 0.2 miles, a 3 minute walk (thanks Google Maps).

So.. what are the next (say) journeys that are two lines and one change on the map and a short walk by land...?
... examples:

Angel to Farringdon
Old St to Barbican
St James Park to Green Park
Marble Archto Baker St
Pimlico to St James Park
Borough to Lambeth North
Brixton to Clapham North
Baron's Court to High St Ken
Royal Oak to Warwick Avenue
Preston Road to Kingsbury
Angel to Caledonian Road
Manor House to Seven Sisters
How about looking at the origins of some of the more unusual place names. Some of these: Elephant and Castle, Queensbury, Seven Sisters, are relatively well-known but others less so:
Why has Theydon Bois got a French name?
Who was the Shepherd and what was so special about his Bush?
Was Chalk ever farmed at Chalk Farm?
What exactly is a Heathway and why is Dagenham seemingly the only place to have one?
Roehamster - I've always found the fact the Northern Line didn't make it as far as Sutton particularly frustrating. Something to do with squabbling between private companies meant the Northern Line wasn't allowed to extend past Morden in case it took passengers away from the line between Wimbledon and Sutton.

If you look at Google Earth you can see that the end of the Northern Line tracks are within metres of the Wimbledon loop tracks. Wikipedia also has a rather nice picture of the 'town' of Morden at the time the tube arrived there that shows how in the middle of nowhere it was.
If it weren't for the squabbling with Southern Railway, the Northern would almost certainly have gone to Sutton. Which would've been fine then, but given that it's now impossible to get on the first train that pulls in during the morning rush as far south as Balham it's probably a good thing.
Chz- that is why there is no chance of the Northern Line being extended past Morden in the forseeable future though I believe there is talk that Tramlink might eventually provide a link between Morden and Sutton.
great news. more Underground related items will be most appreciated. However you select it, I'm sure it will have your trademark selection of facts, news, art, humour and wit.

I've just been watching the tube series from the BBC on you tube. http://www.youtube.com/user/undergroundseries/featured.
I would love to see "Design Line" or something equally snazzy, where the line's architectural and station intricacies of merit are shown. Not always the big things! For example, the different colours of tiles from Wood Green to Southgate!
@briantist: Euston Sq to Warren St via KXSP, Snaresbrook to Wanstead via Leytonstone
Since you have started off with the anniversary and first stations.
Why not continue with similar blogs based on the other sections of line in chronological order.
e.g. Instead of complete lines, do sections based on opening dates.
