Blackpool still looks like it did when I used to visit every year in the 70's and 80's. Long may it continue.
Hope you visited the Winter Gardens and the Pleasure beach.

When we moved to London from Leeds all her new friends went on about taking us kids to Brighton as it would be as good as Blackpool. You now have some idea how dissapointed we were. Did you see the donkeys? Did you have a ride?

This is the modern world, DG, we don't need no Blackpool review
To tell us whats right or wrong -
Say what you like cause I don't care
I know where I am and going too
It's somewhere I won't preview
Dont have to explain myself to you
I dont give two donkeys about your review
This is the modern world.

I have only been to Blackpool off season and I have always found it to be absolutely horrible! In contrast, Brighton is great all year round.

Never been to Blackpool myself. After reading your review, I'm still not sure whether it's worth me visiting.

Brighton, however, is a great place, I feel, to spend a weekend - as long as it's not raining, of course!

In Blackpool City
There's a lot of things I gotta say to you
But whenever I approach you, you make me look a fool
I wanna say, I wanna tell you
About the old ideas
But you turn them into fears

Not to mention
Found myself in Blackpool town
Though i've only been here for three days now
I've got blisters on my feet
Trying find a friend in Cleveleys street
I bought an a to z guide book
Trying to find the clubs and ymcas
But when you ask in Blackpool town
They say don't know, don't care
And i've got to go, mate

This has nothing to with Blackpool nor Brighton.
DG you know everything about London, so no doubt you know about deep level shelter, but just in case you haven't:

dg sighs: Yes, I know.

Been to Blackpool once (well you've got to 'aven't ya) but it was too ...erm...well, "Northern"!

Now Cornwall's beaches on the other hand...Perfect!

Did you know that pscyhedelic German prog rockers, Tangerine Dream, were named after Blackpool FC's appearance in the 1953 FA Cup Final?

I have been on that Jurassic thing a couple of times and both times banged my knee getting on. Painfully.
