Happy Birthday DG!!

Great achievement... Wish I had discovered you earlier. Apart from the App (very funny) - any celebratory plans?

EP

Will it be available for US iPhone users? It won't let me access it in the US iTunes store.

Cheers! Congrats!

Nice going DG.

BTW. Can I have the franchise for Jakarta?

Happy Birthday mate, eight years is quite some achievement. Long may it continue.

Best

Congratulations on eight fantastic years! Thanks for the wonderful content and, more importantly, for staying grounded all this time.

Happy birthday to the blog, hope you keep up the fantastic work!

Thanks for all the enjoyable posts DG.

Have you got a marketing person in to write today's spiel for iGeez? It seems so much glitzier with more than a smidge of smoke and mirrors than your normal well researched factual blog entries...

Hurrah!

*checks calendar*
No, it's not April 1st (perhaps being 08.09.10, this in in lieu of 01.04.10?) ;)

Happy Blogday!

Happy Blog Birthday, DG. Sadly I don't possess an iPhone, so I suppose I'll just have to continue to visit you blogland daily.

But oh, to have light-up notification whenever I pass a cattle trough...

Happy blog birthday!

Now where's the Android version?

Well done and thank you for the past 8 years. Here's to the next 8.
The use of "app" for applications irritates me. (but I am the type of person who also gets niggled when I here of "kids" instead of children).
As does "podcast" for an MP3 download.
Also it seems that if you put "i" in front of a product name you can charge more for it!

There's a cute newish cartoon in Private Eye called iBores... Says it all, really.

(Typed on a Mac...)

Happy blogday from me too! Here's to many more...

GeezerBook! I'd pay good money for that never to exist...

Keep up the good work my man.

Colonel Lionel Mandrake (ret.)

I must render my disgust that you have fallen prey to the media hype that Apple puts out and only developed the iGeez application for Apple users.

We first adopters have already moved onto Android apps (Samsung Bada will be next week) and demand that you throw down the shackles of the Apple hegemony and make your application compatible with the open-source, free wheeling, hippy attitudes that pervade the Googleplex.

Then charge more for it.

Excellent App.....it singlehandedly makes owning an iPhone worthwhile.

Nice one, Happy Blogday and may there be many more.

I'm going to rush out today and buy an iPhone just so I can download this excellent sounding application!

Nice one DG, and many happy returns for your blog! Thanks for not-quite-eight years (in my case) of a great blog, the only one I never miss now. Thanks.

Yes, many happy returns. Is that when you take something back and get your money refunded? Does this apply to iGeez too? I think we should be told.

Each day I thank my Creator that I don't have an iPhone. I echo the calls of others for the app to be made available on other platforms!
Many happy returns, btw.

Will your app feature a 'Kitten of the Day' and the location of the nearest kitten rescue centres?

If not, I don't think I'll bother!

BTW, for birthday gifts this year, I bought my nephew an i-pod, myself an i-pad & for Christmas I'm going to buy the wife an i-ron!

It has been an absolute pleasure reading your blog for the last (almost) 8 years. Even if I don't comment as much as I used to. Or even blog myself, anymore.

Happy Blogday and I hope there'll be many more to come.

Congratulations, Geezer! I shall definitely be enjoying £2.99 well spent.
Thank you for the last eight years.

Happy Blogday.
Looking forward to the next 8 years.

Happy 8th birthday. DG

iGeez sounds just the right App especially with kittens for the iPhone, please don't listen to the other posters Apple rules.

I am with Michael here, daily kitten app would be perfect.

You need to make it for the Blackberry though. Until they make a clamshell iphone, I am not buying.

Happy blogday!

Never mind this new-fangled iGeez pap - we demand this blog appears on paper.

PAPER, I say!

*clicks print*

Oh.

Happy birthday!
I'd buy your app. I'm a sucker for such things.

I still remember the smell of the purple ink on mimeographed weekly newsletters from school...

But in other news I was going to make the same point as Michael re the kittens.

Happy blog day and long may your blog grace teh intarwebs.

Thanks for eight great years! Your blog is my favourite morning read.

I can't seem to access it from UK iTunes stores says no match.
Will try from my own computer as opposed to iPhone. Am I the only 1 having this problem.

Would love to see a version for Android!

Also, I'd happily donate to you if you had a pay pal donate button on your site.

Happy Blog Birthday, and thanks, hope there are many more years left in you, It's rare that I fail to learn something new no mastter how small from your writng.

Eight years! Happy blog birthday dg.

You continue to set the bar high... keep up the great work.

A great 8 years , many more i hope.

Very good, many congratulations on 8 years and thanks for a consistently excellent read every day. Keep up the great posts.

Congratulations! And if you were to make the drinking trough application available on BlackBerry, I'd buy it...

Happy BlogDay!!

Rob

Congratulations DG. Agree with mclm - - always something different. Thanks to your Fleet River posts a few years ago I started my London- watery - wanderings and have enjoyed your great blog ever since.
Keep going - here's to another 8 years

Hehehe, fab blogday post!

Happy Blogday DG.

Thank you so much. I've enjoyed the 8 year ride and am looking forward to (hopefully) at least another 8!

Cxx

Happy Blog Birthday DG. What an amazing achievement. Here's to the next 8+. You have a fan for life here!

Keeping it real for eight years. Any particular blog highlights that particularly stand out?

Unless I've got this all wrong, I'm astounded that no one else has mentioned or seen the sarcasm in DG's post? While this would be a believable post from the majority of other bloggers, the tone just doesn't seem 'legitimate diamondgeezer' to me.

Never before have I been more disappointed that this is one of his spoofs and not a real app (good fake link btw), which from the description I would gladly have paid up for. Yes, slight Apple fanboy here.

Congrats on your 8th year of continued blogging and for seemingly fooling the majority of commenters. That is unless, I'm the fool here.

Congratulations. Glad to see that blogging continues to be dead.

I now have a reason to buy an iPhone.

Shame that I don't have the cash ;)

Congrats DG, for 8 years of consistently good blogging (gosh I've been reading daily for 7 years!). Really thought we were going to lose you earlier this year, so chuffed that you survived to celebrate another blog-day. Here's to as many more years of future blogging as keeps you happy and interested...

This is a brilliant idea! Especially the "turn up in a bit of London and it gives you the posts".

Better finish the comments system first though, I guess ;)

Happy blog day, DG.

Who needs an app? I already read your blog via my iPhone (and your tweets too). However, I be right there for the shiny water trough feature. Whiz bang geotags. :)

Happy BlogBirthday, DG.

Many happy returns.

X

I would genuinely have bought this app if it existed, incredible idea. I don't even have an iPhone. I'd probably get one for it.

All the same, happy birthday!

Excellent!
