In defence of KX, at least you get to see some trains. Walking through St P is like walking through Bluewater

I go through here most days and I like it - a huge improvement on how it was before. The station had a certain run down charm previously but it's a lot better now (if a bit corporate) ...

I've been to St. Pancras now several times, and I think it's splendid, and the glass roof certainly gives it light and atmosphere, rather than the darkness and dinginess that predominates at King's Cross. However, the problem is certainly that, in some places, you could be mistaken for thinking you were in the duty free hall of one of the terminals at Heathrow Airport, rather than one of London's finest railway stations. However, St Pancras isn't the only London station to be brightened up and have a shopping arcade added - remember when they refurbished Liverpool Street in the '80s and '90s?

Still, St. Pancras has been much improved from what it was before, and it does seem now that we have a worthy contender to, for example, Grand Central station in New York, albeit a little bit smaller.

The Kent Express platforms above the Circle are due to open in December 2009, slightly ahead of the Northern Ticket Hall (due 2010), so should be the first thing that brings passengers to this corner of St Pancras.

(though opening the Kent Express without the Northern Ticket Hall would be a disaster, so hopefully they'll synchronise them)

What really pissed me off when arriving at St Pancras was the sighting of a couple of shops: Leonidas and Neuhaus. I'm sure there are others, but after having lugged half a kilo of real Belgian chocolates from this end, I was a bit miffed.

I know they exist elsewhere in England, but so close to the rather pathetic arrivals hall (a bit like Zaventem airport, really) was a little too much.

Nice station though.

You are absolutely right, I failed to notice the large Boots when I was there recently, even though I was walking around in circles looking for a chemist. Obviously I wasn't walking around in the Circle.

Hang on, I was looking for a Boots a few weeks ago and couldn't find one - where exactly is this mysterious Circle then?? I'm confused
