I wonder what the cost of printing all these Tube maps is, just out of curiosity.
So it looks like just three out of the last thirty years have had just one Tube map printed that year. 2002 was a great year for map lovers - interesting to see Notting Hill Carnival and Golden Jubilee maps |

But it'll still be dated September 2024 won't it, unless they pulp them all - so it's not a 'real' 11 month gap.

It's sod's law that the first time they're ever going to pulp a print run will be when there's a massive change to the map. It's becomimg increasingly obvious the new lines won't be happening this year despite all the publicity. And all because of a spotty teenager in the midlands.

The new map (Autumn 2024) can be seen in Mark Ovenden's book 'Transit Maps' published last month.

Be nice if the new map removed most of the Thameslink lines outside the “core”.

I’m getting worried that DG, may not be feeling himself quite at the moment.
If this is the case, then get well soon! |

the new lines WILL be happening this year! 😁

Steve, that's an example map created in February to show how the new lines would look. The new map would be slightly different, for starters, it would likely include the closing of Colindale and the new layout of the Weaver line under Hackney.

If that's THE Geoff, then I believe it... 👍

I look at the map on the northbound northern line platform at KX today, and wanted to date it (I was checking to see when Kentish Town was meant to open, and why Colindale wasn’t closed). I saw “Dec 2023” in the corner and thought “blimey, that’s old”. Now on my daily check here, DG, you have provided the perfect context for my musing. It is indeed old - and unusually so. Strange coincidence!
