Can we go back to that number 1 post, find all those 901 people and give them a Very Stern Glare?
I thought James' comment was very foresighted:

A year from now I would not be surprised if a rebel 'Eurosceptic bloc' has developed from within the party that will make passing even manifesto legislation difficult. Cameron will find himself having to strike deals with the UUP and DUP in any case..
Ian - given that extraordinary events are now normal (Elon Musk & Twitter) perhaps the 2015 election marked the start of a trend.

Local link: Boing Boing was previously edited by then Hackney resident Cory Doctorow. Per Wikipedia: In 2015, Doctorow decided to leave London and move to Los Angeles, expressing disappointment at London's "death" after Britain's choice of Conservative government; he stated at the time, "London is a city whose two priorities are being a playground for corrupt global elites who turn neighbourhoods into soulless collections of empty safe-deposit boxes in the sky, and encouraging the feckless criminality of the finance industry. These two facts are not unrelated."
Well deserved recognition.
I wonder what (and when) the next one will be!
the story on the countdown timer is a good read.. just in that it reminds you how something that now feels fundamental to getting around london was once shiney and new... and only 8 months before the olympics.
Five years later and that Bob Dylan story still leaves me gobsmacked.
Wouldn't have thought anything would be able to top Bob Dylan, but here we are.
I hope Doctorow enjoyed the Trump presidency after moving to Los Angeles. Out of the frying pan?
All sorts of comment threads tumble rapidly into politically-based irrelevance.
