What excellent fun! Thanks for posting.
We're doing something similar at the end of the month in Birmingham, but on a canal boat.
That sounds splendid. Perhaps you should try the BCN Challenge next :-)

Well hello Victor!
Any examples of clues, DG?
Three, Tom.
... so had anyone thought of paying a taxi driver to drive / navigate those one-way streets?
Oh wow! What fun!
I love treasure hunts in London. The first one I did was based on the Monopoly board, raising money for GOSH, back in the days when you could (legally) shake a can at unsuspecting tube travellers!
A most wonderful tradition; to retain the 1957 rules through all the changes in the City over the years is a challenge in itself. Indeed, long may it continue. Thanks for the excellent write-up as usual DG.
As usual a well written account. It brought back happy memories; I used to do the MQ and the Pedo in the '80s and still find myself looking around for clues when walking in London. One of my favourite clues was where the answer was in a stained glass window of a church, which had to be read in reverse, by flashlight of course.
I took part for the first time on Saturday night. It was immense fun and hopefully the first of many to come.

I can't beleive I missed my second chance in a couple of months to unmask the elusive Diamond Geezer though. ;-)

For the record we got 37/60 and came joint 8th.
Sounds good fun. Were you driving around in an exotic vehicle DG?
I also took part for the first time (in the Delorean!) this year.

Great fun and hope to do it again!

Sadly couldn't stay for the results, so not sure how well (or badly) we did!
Good to see Clem is now back on the road - she was very much in need of overhaul (indeed putting back together!) when I was at Imperial 40 years ago - and that her comrade Jez (the fire engine, JezeBELL) is still going strong. Was there any sign of the third Imperial College vintage vehicle, Boanerges?
Gosh. Thanks for this.
It was all tremendous fun, esp doing it in a bit of British Leyland. Probably will do it again in a couple of years. Props to the guys with the DeLorean too. Super stuff.
That sounds amazing! I remember I used to take part in a similar event when I was in the Venture Scouts, it was called the Maypole and involved driving around Herts & Beds (basically, the area covered by OS Landranger map no. 166) at night looking for clues at eight-figure grid reference locations. Fun times!
Today's requirement is for 'distinctive media content' (at minimal cost). A bit like DG's blog really.
