You get extra marks for “bell-end droop”. Certainly drew a wry smile from me this morning.
This seems to happen with every single batch of new signs. Extraordinary.
RE the map showing the mainline between Waterloo and Vauxhall, why didn't they just have it coming out of Waterloo diagonally? That would eliminate two of the bends
The people who install stuff just install what they are given to install (plus in all likelihood it'll be some subcontractor), its for the 'higher ups' to make sure its correct.

Perhaps its a pointer to a general institutional meh, the nerdy types who'd normally catch this sort of thing can no longer get through or are put off by an interview process designed by 'normal people'.
I think someone's channeling their inner Bond.

The name's Power Station Station. Battersea, Power Station Station.
“Screeched”? I was hoping for the sort of exasperated chunter you’d expect from someone of my age and bearing. Oh well.

"but the current walking route around the BPS building site is a tortuous 900m"

Having got inadvertently in that area on one of my walks a few weeks ago I agree, it is a horid mess.
"map-faff" lovely description.
So trains operate over the the Charing X - Morden connection:
-full time, according to the station line diagrams;
-peak hours only, according to the train line diagrams;
-not at all, according to the maps.

Isn't consistency wonderful?
Thank you! Guilty as charged re “partially informed” re the current cover art series.
Useless fact time:

The postal address for Battersea Power Station station has been registered with Royal Mail as:

Battersea Power Station
Battersea Underground Station
Battersea Park Road
LONDON
SW11 8AL
I agree Betterbee, it's a mess, I don't get why they had to show a permanent split at Kennington on the tube map like that.

When the line through Bank is closed for a few months next year, I expect they will be running some Morden via Charing Cross services all day.
Overheard a conversation on the Northern Line yesterday between two people who said 'oh I didn't know there was a Zone half, must mean cheaper fares'
Following yesterday’s speculation on the naming of “....Station station”, I see the BBC’s online report of its opening this morning consistently refers to it just as “Battersea Power Station”. Perhaps usage will soon establish it in the same way as King’s Cross, where the context conveys whether somebody’s referring to the mainline or tube stations or the area in general? Granted, there’s no actual building called “King’s Cross”, but it mightn’t be too difficult a linguistic leap to work out in Battersea if a reference is to the station or the over-priced bolt-holes (sorry, “homes”) for Malaysian tax exiles.
In my humble opinion, DG's version of the tube map - with the new branch appearing as a straight line - is far superior to TfL's version (with the branch 'drooping' away to terminate at Battersea Power Station).
Dissappointed that, after all the testing and rehearsals, the destination of my train from Kennington this evening was displayed as "Check Front Of Train". I've never been there, but it must be quite busy as all lines seem to go there.
So, was the destination on the front Battersea Power Station station, Battersea Power Station, Power Station Battersea, or next stop past/before 7 Elms depending on the map?
Maybe Batt Pwr Stn because of the restrictions of dot matrix destination blinds.
Rest assured that the line diagram at Warren Street doesn’t refer to Power Station Battersea — it doesn’t mention the branch at all.
> and it is really tricky to depict the correct zonal situation on a long thin diagram…

I wonder if it can be done properly.
