I went on a "brother's tour" last year which was excellent and I also went on a separate tour of the gardens with one of the gardeners which was very interesting - mulberries from one of the trees are given to the Lord Mayor every year and we got to sample them.

It's a fascinating place, I visited in 2022 on an open house tour. Pretty close by you also have the Bart's hospital museum which is worth a visit, and the pathology museum (only open by appointment or for special openings - there will be one in November this year)

Ending up in one of these 'heritage' versions of sheltered housing is something to aim for - sadly the Tower of London isn't possible as I'm not ex-military.
